iPod Video Conversion Software
I'm looking for some software to convert .avi to whatever format it is that iTunes recognizes to import some TV episodes onto my iPod. What program should I download for this?
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
usually i just use PSPVIdeo9. IPODS read MP4 just as a PSP would. Just change the directory to a different directory and puch the one-click transfer button and BOOM...you got your video converted ready to go into the IPOD
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I use either iSquint or Quicktime. Depending on which kind of file I have to convert. For AVIs I use Quicktime.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I use Videora iPod Converter. (You'll have to Google it, since I can't post links at this time. o_O) It has the advantage of being free (a major plus), being simple-to-use, able to convert many formats (even .flv [Flash] files) and, to be blunt, not ugly. XD
If you decide to use it and have any questions - after reading all of the FAQs and such - feel free to ask me. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

Link. I was speaking idiomatically. |
MeGUI has to be the most complete conversion tool. I highly recommend checking it out, especially if you are going to do your own conversions from DVD to iPod.

Make sure whichever tool you're using has updated their profiles to support presets for the higher resolution and bitrate supported by the latest revision to the iPod's software.

Do any of you experience audio sync problems with videora or MeGUI?
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Just got an iPod video 80GB yesterday, just tried out Videora. Although the GKnot/MeGUI stuff is much more involved and tuned for perfection, this "one click" conversion works pretty well.
Only complaint is that it can't (as far as I can tell) save the new file in the same directory as the target file. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |

It's a glitch with the particular file. There is a trick I did to fix that on some 24 episodes I had. It involves opening a text file and some pretty basic stuff beyond that... Search on Videora forums under that sort of thing (sound not in sync with video). I might go hunting for it in a minute if I can.

Hey, maybe you should try that thing Chie was talking about.
