Of course they ruin it by hiring Rob Liefeld to do the artwork. Every single character he draws looks like their face is simply a rubber mask stretched tightly over a deformed skull. The eyes always squint in an unattractive fashion and I fucking hate all the extraneous penstrokes he leaves behind.

When it looks like Cable has catwhiskers because there are so many superfluous hatching lines in his face, even where the light source supposedly shines directly upon it, the artist needs to stop, reevaluate and be professional.

Liefeld's musculature is also overdone. I swear he makes up new muscles as he goes.

Also annoying is that Jim Lee is doing artwork too. On his own, Lee is satisfactory, but he borrows from Liefeld a lot. When the two team up, Lee loses some of his own style and assimilates Liefeld's ridiculous penstroking, and I find it distracting. Don't these people know anything about clean lines and borders?

As for Onslaught...meh. He was kind of boring, really. What fun is an omnipotent, nigh-indestructible villain? The good villains are the ones with glaring flaws.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Actually, I think what is good is having both. Otherwise it gets boring.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I liked Onslaught.
I think I am one of the three people on earth who enjoyed his appearance, his powers, the way he went about things and all.
Up until the stupid ending (which still was kinda cool, with the heroes sacrificing themselves) the Cross wasnt that bad.

And now... now they give it to LOEB and Liefeld.
Those had NOTHING to do with the Onslaught crossover and BOTH got taken off the Heroes Reborn books HALFWAY through (which should tell something).

But now they are given Onslaught... well, f*cking thanks, Marvel.

I always wanted him to come back.
I did not want to see him getting artistically raped and a story given that will bad beyond measure.

Rob Liefeld

Are you kidding me? He has to be THE WORST artist in the industry.

Jim Lee happens to be my favorite . . .

I was speaking idiomatically.

Oh yeah, while I'm a big Marvel fan, I was not that excited or happy when I heard this news. Well, Onslaught was "cool" and "awesome" as described by other fans, but I don't find him that menacing, I mean, Omega Red's better (HAIL MOTHER RUSSIA). Anyways, with that said, and you add Loeb and Liefeld.. what else is there to say? This would suck. They're just gonna use this to milk money from Onslaught and Liefeld and Loeb worshippers while neglecting content, which SUPPOSED TO BE WHAT COMICS IS ALL ABOUT. This makes panda bears sad pandas.

I don't know what everyone is so worried about. Doesn't anyone remember the last time Liefeld and Heroes Reborn were mixed?

Companies really need to stop hiring Liefeld and send him back to art school

While I wish they would have gotten Jim Lee to work on this project, I'm happy Onny is at least coming back. His previous story arc was one of my all-time favorites and it'll be interesting to see what happens now that the mutant population has been reduced overall.

Then again... Onlsaught did *feed* off mutant energy, didn't he? So he may actually be worse off this time around. That and most of his former servants are either dead or de-powered, means the odds are kinda stacked against him, even if he happens to have the help of Loki as some of those artwork pieces indicate. I'm just curious on how all of this is going to pan out.

Man, Liefeld. Let's hope it'll be some of his better work. I mean, I think that recently he's gotten better about drawing proportions and backgrounds, my example being the Teen Titans arc he drew. Do we really need Onslaught back? He was a mistake the last time. Too powerful. Confusing origin. Big hulking bad guy.

I love how IGN misinformed its readers by saying, "They, in turn, were reborn on a world on the other side of the sun." Umm, guys? Didn't you know that it ended up on the other side of the sun after Heroes Reborn?

I, too, am glad that Onslaught is coming back, but I feel Loeb and Liefeld will ruin the character completly, destroying the last shreds of coolness about him.

He doesnt feed of mutants tho. He did feed off the psi-plane tho, and used it to power himself further. Later he absorbed X-Man Nate grey and Franklin Richards (Uber-reality manipulators) and added their powers to himself, becoming obscenely powerful, even so far that he was able to dismiss Apocalypse and Cable with but a gesture and created a second sun in the skies.

there is a lot to held in the back of ones head when it comes to Onslaught, unfortunately, Loeb is writing, and Liefeld is drawing, which means this will be horrible beyond measure.

For some reason I think this gonna be such a HUGE mistake. Everything with Loeb or/and Liefeld names must be avoided, seriously!
I used to don´t miss a thing published by Marvel 2 years ago, now I get only POWERS (don´t know if this counts as a Marvel book), Daredevil, Supreme Power, Next Wave and Young Avengers. Really hope something better comes from this 'Civil War' event... tsk

I was speaking idiomatically.

Loeb does pretty decent things at Marvel. It was when he went to DC that he lost his mind.

Gee, another alternate Marvel reality, despite the assertion that this ripples off Scarlet Witch's infamous line :/
