Duke Nukem Forever finaly coming out

I know, I know, you're thinking "again? This is like the 11th time. Just let it die already" But wait, it's real. For it has been officially announced at PAX.

Developed by Gearbox software (Borderlands fame), It should release early next year.

THE STREAM IS STILL GOING OK

2K Games Live, Ustream.TV: Tune in for the latest 2K Games Live events! .

ALWAYS BET ON THE DUKE

I think it's pretty fitting Gearbox ends up doing Douk. I dunno what to think of the game proper, considering you hardly see much (good) footage of it on the stream. It does look like it's a general console FPS now, but I'll still want to play it.

Also they are playing the PC version with 360 controllers which is pretty hilarious.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I was surprised to hear this, since 3d realms went bankrupt over this game. I actually read an article about what happened with duke nukem forever and why it never came out, interesting story that. We'll see if gearbox follows the trend.

Still too early to call it, but I'm really curious how they're going to update the format beyond giving you the ability to use exercise weights, piss in urinals and draw on walls. I know the humors going to be there, it's the rest I have my doubts about.

If I do get it I just hope they don't do an update of the facehugger enemys from Duke 3D or I'll never get a good friend of mine to play it. Long story short he had a major freak out incident when he saw one for the first time and has never liked them since, which I'm kicking myself for not recording because it was hilarious... like youtube worthy hilarious

Impressive in the respect that it finally exists?

I'm swelling up with so much indifference that it's beginning to reach backwards through time, causing me to doubt whether the original Duke 3D was anything better than a generic shooter with 2nd hand jokes.

Shame noone bothered making a sequel to Exhumed instead.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm actually more saddened that the Balls of Steel Edition doesn't actually come with balls of steel.

It would be the most hilarious thing ever if it came with a set of Baoding balls. Doug Huggem would agree.

We've come a long way, baby.

To be fair that was fairly impressive in the year 2000.

Come Get Some trailer
NSFW

Duke has gone Gold. In about 2 weeks, we'll be playing the game that has been delayed Forever. For 15 years, people have put their bets on Duke, only now to see the payoff.

The demo will be out June 3rd for First Access Club members. It's finally time to get some.

That screenshot is from like 1998.

The 2001 DNF trailer was still impressive 3-4 years later, though.

Duke Nukem Forever Intro

No you're not seeing things. The actual opening intro from the game. The demo was pretty damn good. You can tell it was an early build but still. I enjoyed it and even though it was short it makes me want it to be June 14th already.

The demo was good. I mean, the gameplay is a generation behind but I still had fun with it. Definitely looking forward to this one.

EBGames just took the money out of my bank account for my preorder this morning.

I'm glad there are people who enjoyed it for what it was. If you head over to the gearbox forums there are people bitching left and right about it either not looking like Call of Duty, or moaning about the 2 weapon limit and regenerating health, etc... I dunno what some were expecting, honestly.

Oh and people who pre-ordered and entered the FAC (from either buying Borderlands GotY or pre-ordering Duke) gets a free multiplayer pack DLC whenever they release it.

I'm not big into the "two weapon limit" but I'll give it a free pass until I play through the whole game. (One of the great things about DN3D was the absurdity involved in carrying a shotgun, a ripper, a RPG, a shrink gun, etc...)

The humor is great and fuck people on Gearbox forums. I'm not even going to try looking at that because those people just don't get it.

Nostalgia is a funny thing. It makes an awful, ugly, boring demo at least smirk worthy. It was pretty funny at least, I suppose.
