Symphonic Odysseys Discussion Thread

The WDR Radio Orchestra was happy to reveal to SEMO both the title and the concept of their next video game concert: Symphonic Legends - Uematsu in Concert.

Square Enix Music Online :: Interview with WDR Radio Orchestra Manager Winfried Fechner Part 2 (March 2010)

While it's still a long way away, I figured a lot of Gamingforce members would enjoy discussing their expectations for the concert and eventually this could become the official thread closer to the concert date.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'm way happier with this news than with the Nintendo concert, although I expect that concert to be awesome, as well. Fact is, I'm just more of an Uematsu fan than a Mario and Zelda music fan, so yeah, bring it on. I hope, fingers crossed really, for my fave Uematsu track of all time to appear in the concert: Cave, from Blue Dragon. It'd be grand to hear that performed live. I wouldn't be able to keep it dry if they played that!
As for the timing, it'll be three days after my 30th birthday. Personally, I cannot imagine a better present. Just need to make sure to book tickets as soon as they go on-line 9and yay for it being on a Saturday, Perfect!).

There's nowhere I can't reach.

As I'm not a great Uematsu fan I'm looking forward to the non-Final Fantasy tracks. Not that FF music is bad but hearing Uematsu always means hearing FF so I think it's refreshing to listen to some other stuff from him.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Also not that much of a Uematsu fan, but if I can hear "At Zanarkand" (preferably the version from the "More Friends" in LA 2005 album, or some equally good arranged version) I'm going to be super-happy (and at the same time super-sad )

I'd also like to hear something from "Lost Odyssey", "Blue Dragon" and "Gun Hazard".

And... let's see... "Sakura Note" and "Lord of Vermillion" come to my mind, however both not my cup of tea. Maybe "Guin Saga", but I didn't listen to that score. Actually I can't think of that many scores besides the ones for the FF series that Uematsu composed....
