Dreamweaver CS4
Has anyone here used the new version of Dreamweaver? I have looked around online for reviews but they are all pretty superficial. The last time I tried to build a web page I used Dreamweaver MX and it wasn't that easy. Frames, in particular, were pretty badly worked around.
Thanks, T Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I haven't used CS4 yet, but I've used the previous CS versions... And really, the only thing I wanted to use it for was trying to find something in a PHP or CSS file, because it colour-codes the various codes.
I once tried to create a relatively simple page/site with Dreamweaver, and I just couldn't do it. It was way too complicated. I ended up just sticking with my good friend Notepad. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I've used both MX and CS4, and like Sousuke said, if you already know how to do HTML / XHTML / XML in notepad really well and are comfortable coding CSS like that, I'd stick to it rather than learning a whole new program all together.
But, if you want to learn the program and master how to use it in a short time frame, I recommend this book, since it'll give you all the essential know-how tips without a whole lot of confusing details. It's what I found to be "more bang" for the price I paid for the book. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I've used it but I couldn't help you -- half the time I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to web development

I've been using the Dreamweave series for years for coding and stuff. However, I rarely use the WYSIWYG editor. I usually just stick with the coding portion.
But if it's any help, CS4 is way better than the MX version in my opinion. I recommend that you give it a shot. I was speaking idiomatically. |

I use Microsoft Expression Web 3. I do only html & css and the intellisense is great. And since this version it has SuperPreview included which is a browser simulator for ie 6 & 7.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
