New PC -- New Problems
The problem is, it won't respond after this. I've done everything I can think of to try and fix this. I even switched out the processor with the one in my current PC to see if it'll do any better--which it did... I at least got a blue BIOS screen saying shit ain't the same. This led me to believe it was the processor, so I RMA'ed it back to newegg and had them send me another. I pop the new one in, and I'm getting the same unresponsive screen. I've stripped it down to the bare essentials to get it working. video card, one stick of RAM, and the processor. I'm still getting the same issues. I've even tried resetting CMOS with no luck. The current hardware I'm using is... mobo: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards processor: Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops video: Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-N959-TR GeForce 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards RAM: Newegg.com - Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR533D2N4K2/2G - Desktop Memory I'm considering hooking my processor to it just so I can get to BIOS and maybe flash it to see if an upgrade would fix the problem. I really don't want to have to send more stuff back, but I'm currently thinking it may be the motherboard, or another dead processor? Or, I'm even open to the possibility that I bought things that are incompatible? They're both slot 775, though. ![]() Any input would be great. Thanks. Additional Spam: Ok, I switched out my processor once again to see if it would do anything, and it'll work fine. I did notice that my RAM is 533, while the board says 600+. It'll run super-dandy-fine with my processor in it, but if I put in the new one, it goes retarded again. Is it doing this because the processor demands higher speeds of the RAM, or is it possible I've had 2 dead CPUs in a row? That seems awfully unlikley, though. FSB issue. 533 x 2 = 1066 1066 /= 1333 Math is awesome. Duuuuurrr. Jam it back in, in the dark.
