[FIXED] Unbricking a Wii

So yeah. Today, I decided to do an update on my Wii, cause I was still running 3.2U and wanted some of the new features [and some games refused to play]. Followed a guide and everything, and everything SEEMED fine. Then...

I noticed that there was another update, 4.2U. The best way [I've found] is to just use the regular system update and then softmod it so you're starting at a clean install. At any rate, I set the Wii to update, but came back a few minutes later to see that there was some kind of connection problem, and it told me to just try again later. I was going to do it again right away, but instead... The Wii completely rebooted, and took me back to the Preloader. It would not go back to the System Menu. My Wii seems to think that it no longer HAS an OS.

At this point... I've tried various things, but all the Google hits seem to be for softmodding. What I need is like, a .wad or something that will reinstall the default firmware.

I can still access:

- Homebrew Channel
- BootMii menu
- Backup Loader [I can still play most disc-based games]
- Whatever homebrew [wad managers, CIOS installers, etc]

Also, as a sidenote and random lulz, my Homebrew Channel display and controls are completely upside-down and backwards. I have no idea why. Everything else displays normally.

Anyone know of anything I can do to remedy this?

[EDIT] I have a backup of my NAND and all that jazz, but BootMii refuses to restore it because it thinks it's from a different Wii. I'm trying everything I can to make it work, but I don't think it's going to be easy.

Okay so, after several hours of working, I actually managed to unbrick. Thanks anyway!

Jam it back in, in the dark.
