Resizing a window with no minimise button
We use a programme at work that for many of it's functions opens a window within the main window. This inner window you can move around ok and resize by dragging on the corners, but it has no restore or minimize/maximise buttons on it.
Somehow, one of the useless fucks at work has managed to do something that has made this internal window appear much longer than the main window it's nested in, meaning that the "Save" and "Cancel" buttons at the bottom are off the bottom of the screen. As such, you can't click and drag to resize the bottom of the internal window either. There are no scoll bars on the larger window, tabbing won't get you to the "Save" button and using alt-space then r affects the bigger window, not the one inside it. The guy's already using max resolution on his screen so I can't increase that to give myself more room at the bottom of the screen and his graphics card doesn't support sideways screen flipping to give me more room that way (Ctrl-Alt-left arrow). Short of plugging in a new monitor with a better max resolution, anyone have any ideas how I can fix this? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() ![]() |
Is it possible to right-click said inner-window's title bar, and select "Size"?
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Nope. No right-clicking anywhere in it
![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() ![]() |
What's the program? Got a screenshot?
Obviously the window size and position is being saved. Maybe you can hack the relevant registry entries for it. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
It may not work, but double clicking on the title bar can SOMETIMES maximize the window, depending on what it is. Alt + Enter does it for some applications as well. I suppose you could always try that if you haven't already :/
I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() I am not a clever pony... |
It's called PTP share register, screencap is attached. It's the central window I've having issues with. This is taken from my copy so you can see the whole window but on my boss's, the internal window is taller than the screen and no amount of clicking or keyboarding will resize it!

Can't you resize those kinds of windows by hovering the mouse on any of the four corners and dragging it inwards? Surely the left top and bottom corners are reachable?
FELIPE NO |
So I'm looking at Excel, and it has a feature where you can right-click the bottom right of any window inside of the program and choose "Arrange." From there you could make it Tile the windows, and they should all then be sized the same within the main window.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
