Kemeko DX: What the Fuck Did I Just Watch

LULZ SUMMARY: A chibi robot doll appears in the room of a typical high school boy. The robot claims the boy as her husband and then a beautiful girl comes out of the doll's mouth who knows the boy from 10 years prior and had been promised his hand in marriage.

Get all that? Basically, it's a very, very strange twist on the "childhood lover" cliche. She comes back for him alright, but in a super powerful robot suit. Someone spent too much time watching Excel Saga and Guu when they made this.

CAST:

Sanpeita Kobayashi [VA: Eri Kitamura (Yui in Koharu Biyori, Ami in Toradora!)]
Our hero, a normal guy that just wants to live a normal life. Unfortunately for him things get turned upside down with the appearance of Kemeko and a strange group of assassins apparently after his life. Did I ever mention that I'm a huge Kitamura fanboy? <3333

Emuemu [VA: Haruka Tomatsu (Nagi in Kannagi; Lala in To-Love-Ru)] and
Izumi Makihara [VA: Mikako Takahashi (Montmorency in Zero no Tsukaima)]

M.M. (pink hair) is the girl from 10 years ago and the pilot who rarely leaves the Kemeko bot, as she feels vulnerable outside of it. She feels it is her duty to protect Sanpeita and she wants to become his bride M.M. moves into his house to make this happen. Izumi is Sanpeita's childhood friend who has a crush on him, and is very disturbed by the sudden appearance of Kemeko.

Kemeko [VA: Chiwa Saito (Becky in Pani Poni Dash! Subara in Nanoha)]
MARVELOUS. Kind of has a personality of her own. Extremely violent.

Ryota Minamino [VA: Fumie Mizusawa (Gidget; Linck in Euruka Seven and Wapourif in Simoun)] and
Misaki Hayakawa [VA: Rie Kugimiya (Every tsundere ever)]

Two of Sanpeita's classmates, Ryota is a bit of a masochist who enjoys making a big deal out of lots of stuff, but to his credit he is the only one who understands the moeness of the current situation.

Misaki is a quiet type who gets "excited" by violence and possibly women. She's very lewd. My favorite Rie role next to Mizore in Rosario Vampire, it's fucking great.

Fumiko Kobayashi [VA: Ayako Kawasumi (She is fucking impressive, that is all you need to know)] and
Aoi-chan [VA: Saeko Chiba (Also fucking impressive, too many A roles to choose from)]
Fumiko is Sanpeita's mother, a full time mangaka who devotes more time to her work than her role as a mom. Aoi-chan is her assistant who has to constantly keep Fumiko on the ball.

Tamako Kobayashi [VA: Mai Goto (Mika in Nogizaka Haruka's Secret and Mizuki in ef; a tale of melodies)]
Sanpeita's younger sister, she's your typical "onii-chan tebaa!" type. Tamako takes care of all the household chores and is deadly with a frying pan.

Master Hand?
NO ITEMS.
KEMEKO ONLY.
FINAL DESTINATION.

IMPRESSIONS: This show is uh, bizarre? The OP and ED are the craziest things this season ever, and the show itself is no stranger to being off the wall. I can't describe it really, I just know you need to watch it. Otherwise you are the rumored homo.

Holy shit the VA list is awesome, also.

I really appreciate that StrikeS is doing an AVI and MKV encode of this show as my current tiny laptop can't handle the MKV but is perfectly adept at the AVI. I like taking my laptop over to my friends to watch Kemeko to take a break from our on-going One Piece marathon. Anyway ever since seeing a few pictures from you on Kemeko I was set on watching it and my buddy and I have been having a blast. Thanks Tails. =)))

Sanpieta is kinda of a whiny douche but otherwise an enjoyable romp into insanity.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

This series was just too much for me to handle because their comedic style seems to be bent towards throwing crap at the wall and see what sticks. I much prefer the controlled dose of insanity in the form of Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei than this.

Acer is loving it because the guy who directed this series also directed Guu, so no surprise there, seeing that he's one of the bigger Guu fans around here

this series is so random. Mecha's are suppose to look awesome but this series kills that logic. I don't know if I'll stick around for the whole series, may watch a few more episodes, but if it doesn't do anymore than cheap echii comedy then I might just forget about it

Bloody awesome and hilarious show! Man, I cracked up watching the first episode, the kemeko robot is fucking funny as hell. I saw the Nendoroid model a few times in the store wondering what it was from.

Very cool.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I meant to bump this the other day because episode 5 is out.

I just watched it, the reference at the end is great.

Episode 6 kind of stumbled because it had too much plot (And by too much I mean it had plot at all)

But episode 7 is fucking amazing. All of you watch it now.

It's essentially Kemeko DX: The Fanservice Borderline Porn Oh Yeah And Rie Is Fucking Hilarious Edition.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah, it's over now. The show kind of lost steam as they went into serious territory the last two episodes or so, but it was still a pretty enjoyable ride from start to finish. I'll update the first post shortly.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

What an anticlimactic ending. I think there'll be another season though, judging from what was after the credits.

It was a little on the short side, but I still have yet to see a series as short as FLCL, so it's okay I guess. All in all, though it was pretty enjoyable. Since Guu was done by the same people, I may have to look into that next.

How ya doing, buddy?

Yeah even Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan got a second season (well OVA but you know what I mean). But hey if they drop that idea for another OVA for Guu I'm completely okay with that.

Kemeko's Song from episode 5 is on the soundtrack. It's so awesome that I have to share the love.

Unfortunately the rest of the 12 tracks on the soundtrack (excluding the TV-size opening and ending) suck.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
