wireless mouse is borked

hello all,

I have a wireless Logitech optical mouse of some kind that doesn't want to work anymore. (computer is a Dell Inspiron 1720)

P/N: 810-000215
PID: LZ73873

essentially, the pointer won't move. I changed the batteries a few times to see if it was just the power source, switched USB ports, tried someone else's wireless mouse and it works fine, restarted computer and reset mouse, etc etc. no avail.

I unplugged it a couple times in the process and then noticed that the receiver was very very hot.

any clues, or should I just burry it and move on? it's been over a year since its purchase so I imagine it's no longer under warranty.

I hate touchpads.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Call Logitech. I had a mouse out of warranty that broke, and they still gave me a new one.

Good luck!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Your receiver is faulty. I'm actually rather sure that if you call Logitech with this problem and give them the serial number for that mouse, they'll replace it.

Ain't no thang~

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

wow, I didn't think any company would be that helpful. I'll pass the info over to my dad. he bought the whole thing while I was away at school, so I don't think I have access to any proof of purchase whatsits at the moment.

thanks to both of you for the tip though! =D

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse. Usually works if some of my things act up

I was speaking idiomatically.
