Popomundo!
I know I've been pushing this in #gfchat, and a lot of you have gawked at me, but I've gotten addicted to this fun little web based game.
Popomundo is a game where you have to create a rockstar. You have to create and promote your own band to the top or join an already existing band. You have to write your own songs and learn the skills that will bring you to the top. It's a newer game, and is constantly being modified with new features, skills, and tasks. The game is free, and has a premium level if you want (yes, I went VIP). You choose the genre of music you want to perform and the instruments your band will play. The game keeps things pretty wide so you can customize just the way you want your band to be. The object is to complete as many of the tasks as you can, build your fame, and bring your band to #1 against all of the other bands that people create. You get to choose a bunch of world cities to start in, each with their own government and court system (you can try to steal other people's items in the game or ruin hotel rooms during your tour and try not to pay for them). To keep your mood up, it's require to socialize with other people in the game, and find women to "snuggle" as they call it in the game (don't worry if you're a guy and you like guys too, that's more than allowed). The more crazy you get with the ladies (guys) of course, the higher your fame can get, just as in true rockstar style. It's EXP based with 5 different skills you can choose to customize (Charm, Looks, Musical Talent, Vocals, IQ). You get a bunch of EXP in the beginning so you don't lag horribly behind the players who have been around a while. So while the first 20 days might suck with no skills or money, after that it opens up really quick. Down the line, you get the opportunity to own businesses if you like (for VIPs). I started my character in Los Angeles named Charles Leonard. When you register, you're given a list of characters you can choose, and you can look at a background story of each one before you take on that character. I also got Benjamin and vemp in my band, which has become the #6 Best Newcomer in Los Angeles and #272 in the Modern Rock category overall. Really, it's a fun game and think you should check it out at www.popomundo.com Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Nova got me into popomundo. it's actually a fun game, it needs constant attention since you have to monitor your mood and health, and improve your skills and relationships. It's pretty much like a SIMS game, only it's text based. My character's name is Johann Tungmar, he's the drummer for Nova's band, I think he's gonna be hospitalized soon.
GO POPO! There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Popo rocks. It doesn't require constant attention, just THOROUGH attention once a day or so. Text based = fun.
My character's name is Jules Mckinnon and I'm the Bass Guitarist / Backup Vocalist in Triple Helix. Most amazing jew boots <a_lurker|laptop> I think your car died too.

Interesting... I'll try this out this week and see how it goes. I just registered myself: Xander Beringer. Xander is a fucking awesome name.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
This is awesome! First, it's a browser game.
Then not only I actually fulfill my dream of being a rockstar, I also won't have to worry about singing the same songs over and over in concerts and those annoying bandmates. I was speaking idiomatically.
