Move OS

Ok I bought a Gateway series model PC that had Windows XP. I just built a new PC and I want to move the license and save $100, is this possible? Every website I check seems not in favor of it working...

No. OEM licenses are tied to the first machine they're installed on. What you're proposing is illegal.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Crap. Well that kind of sucks, but I'm going to school in the fall and I hear software is cheaper through them so maybe I'll wait.

Thanks for the help.
