Possible Game Music Recital in Los Angeles-Orange County Area
I am considering a full piano recital (that means something on the end of an hour and a half to two hours of music) entirely or almost entirely made up of VGM (I believe I am going to include one or two pieces of movie music, and maybe one classical piece). I am testing the water to see the amount of interest in attending one would be. I am looking for an audience of at least 40 people that I don't know.
Now concerning the quality of the music, it should be reasonable. I learned classically, last pieces I learned were Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata and Ginastera's Danzas Argentinas. I've learned the FFVII general battle theme ("Those Who Fight" I believe is the translation), FFIX Final Battle, and others. About the music that will be included. Series that are definately included are Final Fantasy (I don't think I even need to list that), Mana, and Chrono. I'm considering Star Ocean, Shadow of Collosus, Link, Metroid, and others. For movie music the one I'm really considering is the main theme from Schindler's List, then perhaps Star Wars. Classical piece would probably be the Danzas Argentinas. Particular pieces that are definately in, FFVI Tina, FFVII battle, Aries, One Winged Angel, FFXI Vamo alla Flamenco, You're Not Alone, Roses of May, Chrono Trigger Frog, To Far Away Times. Nothing is definite, I'm open for suggestions. If I like the suggestion I will probably take it. I am planning on arranging some music myself which costs some money to get the permissions so I may have to charge a few dollars (2 or something) for admission to pay for the arrangements. I may have to pay for the place that I have it at, I'm hoping to use one particular place that's free, but I don't know if I can get it. If I can't break even on this I'm not going to do it. Now way I'm going to pay to perform. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Play my arrangement of Peaceful Days from Chrono Trigger, hehe.
![]() Some good choices there, though I think you should go for more obscure things, cutting out Aeris and OWA. I live in England, so I obviously can't go, but it would be great if you could provide a recording. As for some Chrono Trigger stuff, have a look at this page: Square Enix Music Online :: Chrono Trigger Piano Collection Aharon's arrangement of Frog's Theme is very good, though possibly a little long, and Conqueso's arrangements are very good, my favourite being Guardia Millenial Fair. Conqueso also has a fantastic arrangement of Meridian Child from Seiken Densetsu 3. For Chrono Cross, have a look at this page: Square Enix Music Online :: Chrono Cross Piano Collection Dragon's Prayer by Christian Pacaud is very dramatic, and very rhapsodic, and Aerlinndan's Home Village Arni is also very good. Aerlinndan has also done an arrangement of Castle Figaro from FFVI; it is a set of 9 variations on the theme, and is pretty good, particularly the latter variations. Life - A Faraway Promise is very good, though not very ergonomic to play, and I wouldn't count out Another Guldove and Time's Scar either. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Apparently it isn't enough.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
