LogMeIn.com
Are there any free services that are as easy to use as LogMeIn.com? The 120 minutes they provide for free is not enough for what I need to do.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I don't know if it's just as easy, as you'd likely need to forward ports in a router or similar device, but UltraVNC would get the job done. Similarly, and again under the assumption that you are running Windows, you can use Remote Desktop, although it operates as more of a terminal server than VNC. That is, whereas UltraVNC would allow you to remotely connect to a computer, regardless of who is logged in at the time, Remote Desktop would require that you end the session of the local user (the one you logged in while physically at the machine) in favor of logging on again. This can be mildly annoying, but those options are still both generally valid.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
you do realize that Logmein.com doesn't really limit you on time while using the free service, right?
I use it almost daily, and I can have my session open for up to 64 hours (on idle, even) before it closes the connection. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. WALK WITH THE DREAMERS,
THE BELIEVERS, THE COURAGEOUS, THE CHEERFUL, THE PLANNERS, THE DOERS, THE SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE WITH THEIR HEADS IN THE CLOUDS AND THEIR FEET ON THE GROUND. LET THEIR SPIRIT IGNITE A FIRE WITHIN YOU TO LEAVE THIS WORLD BETTER THAN WHEN YOU FOUND IT. |
