Fans go pro: How OC ReMix put its stamp on Street Fighter II
Check it out. Not to mention I'm also in there. I'm the assistant soundtrack producer for Capcom's upcoming Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and Ars Technica provided OC ReMix a great interview. Thanks for checking it out.

I'm curious, did Capcom mention during any discussions about the music, the 2003 arrangements by their own label Suleputer?
"Street Fighter Tribute Album" (CPCA-1083) CPCA-1083: Street Fighter Tribute Album - VGMdb Given the high profile of those arrangers, and that Capcom Japan (or at least Suleputer) already owns it, was there was any considerations at any time to just use those? There's nowhere I can't reach. |
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm looking forward to hearing the finished result. I thought Blood on the Asphalt had its weak spots, but I know this will be solid quality.

I was speaking idiomatically. |
I'd think that if they did have an opportunity to use it, they'd have done it for Hyper Street Fighter II.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Yeah, I agree with you there. Besides, the SF Tribute album only had arrangements for 12 out of the 17 characters from Super Turbo. The New Challengers and Akuma didn't have anything on that album.

Haha, I tried to ask Ono about the Tribute Album on the show floor at Comic Con tonight:
Original Sound Version » Blog Archive » Comic Con 08: Street Fighter IV’s Yoshinoro Ono Vs. OSV… Ono Wins Nothing there either. He wasn't able to share a whole lot of info. Great job to OCR for getting the job done! The top composers in Japan working on that Tribute Album can't even get into a game! Haha. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Well, this is an assumption based on everything I've read so far: it looked like they were pretty much leaning in the direction of no additional music, i.e. no remixed soundtrack, until Rey Jimenez heard of Blood on the Asphalt, liked it and figured it would be, in keeping with the spirit of this project, another way of giving back to the SF fans. So it's not like other works were considered and rejected. Is that a fair assumption?
You know I'm not complaining at my end. ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
