Battle for Naboo

Any way to get it to run under XP?

It runs very slowly and it looks like it has frozen.

I have tried to use compatibility and it doesn't work.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I actually tried to use it before on XP; it never worked for me.
You're probably better off with either finding an N64 (and buying the game) or using an emulator with a BFN ROM. (I miss that game so much. Stupid platinum medals...)

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I can't do it on actual cartridge because my GameShark called it quits and I need it for the Ship Modifier(Example: Police Cruiser in "Disruption of Comm 4")

As far as I know, it cannot be emulated as of yet.

Also, I have heard of folks running it under XP

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I had problems running it as well as Rogue Squadron on XP. RS I got to work finally, but can't recall what happened with the other. All I know is, I didn't even bother with trying after a few minutes of running the disc. It was a backup copy on CD-R. Never did try my original...

BTW, is there anyway to play Dark Forces on XP? It won't even load, even though the package says it'll run under 95/98.

I've gotten Dark Forces to work under XP, using either DOSBox or VDMSound, can't remember which!

I was speaking idiomatically.

It's probably DOSBox, a DOS emulator. (VDMSound is kind of a part of DOSBox... I think.)

Uhm... why do you need a GameShark? Those missions are completely possible without the hidden ships, which, I might add, can be unlocked through the game's "standard" code menu.

How ya doing, buddy?

You've completely missed the point. I was using GameShark to put craft in missions you can't normally use them in.

Well, you never said that doing so was your main goal. You told us that you wanted to get BFN working; it is easy to, therefore, assume that you would want to play the game as opposed to do as you mentioned in the quoted text.

I think I had previously heard about DOSBox, though never had taken the time to try it. Probably because, I got rid of almost all of my DOS games when I first got Win XP. Didn't know of it until much later...

Oh well, will try that next time I want to play the game.

With the help of D-Fend (members.home.nl/mabus/) DOSbox can run practically ANY DOS game.

Won't help with Naboo though, it's a Win95/98 game.

Double Post:
Any ideas on getting Naboo to run?

Buy a PC with Windows 95? Personally, I have no clue...

I've tried to run it on a Virtual PC running Win95, and it wouldn't run at all. Gives error messages.

How ya doing, buddy?

Any ideas yet?

I suppose that if someone were to provide me with a Win98 disk image for Virtual PC, I could try that.

I have Mac version 3.0

Seems that Virtual PC won't work because it doesn't support Direct3D.
