RPG's you are looking forward to the most

I would just like to know what RPG's everyone is looking forward to the most. Personally my list contains:

1) Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World ( Because I'm all about the Tales of Symphonia, it's the greatest game EVER created!)
2) Tales of Vesparia ( I saw a trailer and it looks sweet.)
3) Infinate Undiscovery ( I love tri-ace, and the trailer looks amazing!)
4) Final Fantasy XIII Versus ( It looks better the XIII itself)
5) Kingdom Hearts 3 ( Always a big Kingdom Hearts fan, the story is incredible)
6) The Last Remnant ( I don't know much about it yet, but it looks pretty sweet!)

Jam it back in, in the dark.

White Knight Chronicles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is the first one that leaps to mind. I've been excited as hell to see this title ever since I first heard about it. I've no idea on the story, but the concept of fighting a giant turtle that has a city on its back? Oh yeah. Deni likes.

Suikoden VI

No, it hasn't been announced, but it damned well better. V was fucking amazing. I demand a follow-up. You owe me for III, and to a slightly lesser extent, for IV, Konami.

Final Fantasy XIII

Because maybe this time it won't suck balls. It likely will, but MAYBE not.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Persona 4(cuz its coming for ps2, who needs nextgen.)
Kingdom Hearts 358days(looks good for a ds game)
Dragon Quest 9(DS needs more rpgs :P)
Tales of Innocene(see above)

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Hey guys, you do realise if all you do is put down a list with no reason, you're going to get slapped by a mod with a warning and your thread is going to get closed.

Infinite Undiscovery because I just find something amusing about the idea playing a main character that is mistaken for a famous hero. That and Tri Ace is involved.

Dark Messiah: Might and Magic, I saw a friend play the demo for a few moments and it looks interesting.

Dragon Quest IV for the DS. Course that's only if we actually get it released over here. But IV was always my favorite game in the series.

Ar Tonelico 2 because I'm one of three people who enjoyed the first game. What I've played of the moonspeak version is incredibly fun, I just want to be able to read the game.

Etrian Odyssey 2, which is still up for debate whether or not it will come stateside. The first was incredibly fun (although the postgame is a huge pain in the ass), and the promotional tracks released for the second make it seem like the soundtrack will be awesome as well.

Persona 4 since Persona 3 is my gateway drug into the SMT series. I've watched my roommates play Digital Devil Sagas 1 and 2, as well as SMT Nocturne, all seem incredibly neat as well.

Oh wow, White Knight Chronicles looks awesome! Hadn't heard about it before. It seems it's leaning for me to buy a PS3 after all

Anyways, these are the RPGs I'm looking forward to the most, in no particular order

Persona 4 (cause the Persona games are great)
Tales of Vesperia and ToS:Knight of Katatosk (the Tales series is one of the series still putting out some enjoyable games)
FFXIII and Versus (Even though the FF games has gone downward I still can't help feeling a bit excited for new FF games)
Mother 3 (Ok, I know it's released in Japan but what I'm waiting for is a translation)
Disgaea 3 (Well, who doesn't want a new Disgaea?)
Dragon Quest Swords (Might be borderline action/adventure, but I still think it should be allowed in here)
White Knight Chronicles ()

Hmm, I can't come up with more than that at the moment. I'm usually bad at counting up things so I've probably forgotten something.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Too Human. I've been following this game for a decade, ever since it's been announced for the PSone. After seeing recent gameplay videos of it and interviews with Dennis Dyack and the other head guys involved with its development, I've become more excited. The prospect of four player co-op is really, really thrilling for me and I already have 3 other guys at work who are willing to team up with me.

Fallout 3. I hope Betheseda does no wrong here. It's quite a legacy to live up to but it does look like it's shaping up.

Mana Khemia - Playable Pamela. I don't have to say anything more.
Ar tonelico 2 - Liked the first one quite a bit, hope they've improved it. Though it looks like they mostly just changed it, so I'm a bit weary. Hoping for some challenge though.
Etrian Odyssey 2 - First one was a lot of fun despite its problems. Lots of cool character/party customization going on there, and it sounds like the sequel is getting a lot more polish, so it should be better.

Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk (Wii) - I loved Tales of Symphonia. It was a solid game, and I'm hoping the sequel will do the series justice. And lord knows the Wii needs more RPGs.

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - Why am I subjecting myself to playing this series, I don't know. I've played I-XII (excluding XI but unfortunately including X-2), so its like I'm playing this series because I need to rather than liking it. But of course to play this one I'd actually need to have a PS3 to play with.

Dragon Quest IX (DS) - Looks pretty darn good. And I need more games to add to my non-existent DS game collection.

Star Ocean 4 (PS3) - I'm looking forward to this game on the small hope that the series will redeem itself after Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.

Tales of Vesperia (?) - Saw the trailer, and it looks simply beautiful. Hope it gets released on a system that I have.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

yeah um just as a note, putting three words inside () after the game name doesn't make your pointless list any less of a pointless list. "Type more sentences", if post content is difficult to comprehend.

As for me, I've been pretty out of RPGs for a long while now and haven't come across that many to especially catch my interest.

I'm pretty curious to see how Too Human will finally turn out. I loved Eternal Darkness, and want to see how this one will fare, since it's been the big reason to prevent Silicon Knights from continuing that series. Reading the Edge preview on it seemed interesting, hopefully it's not too much like Diablo and will actually have something more besides just fighting and looting.

If it ever gets done, Dragon Age sounds extremely promising. Bioware returning to slightly more complex fantasy RPGs is nice (not that I've minded the more console centric efforts, but come on), and the massive ambition at work with the project raises my curiosity to no end. I just want to see how far they can take it, how much freedom is offered, if all the races really will have individual stories to follow etc

Vesperia is coming to the 360. I don't know why, because the 360 is failing in Japan, so it's going to sell like shit, and American 360 gamers aren't interested in jRPGs.

I hope to check out Mana Khemia when it's released, plus Persona 4 whenever and whatever that may be. If it's Persona 3 FES and not actually Persona 4 I won't mind, but if it's Persona 4 there's the possibility Atlus will make Persona 4 in Japan, but it probably wouldn't get translated this late in the PS2's life.

Why do you play games you don't like? Sounds stupid.

Anyways I'm looking forward to any new mainstream Final Fantasy games and any new persona games. Maybe the real Parasite Eve 3 will come out for ps3.

Unfortunately I heard bad things about the Lost Odyssey, but I still might try it.

Also, I heard of a game for 360 by mistwalker called Cry on or something like that. I want to play that for sure.

I don't have any of the new consoles, so I'm not really looking forward to much of anything. If I did, I'd be looking forward to the Tales of Symphona sequel since Symphonia rocked my socks. Otherwise, what I'll be actually buying:

Mana Khemia: I enjoy Gust's games even if they are ridiculously easy. I love how the Atelier games look and they're just fun to play, so I'm sure I'll have fun with this one too.

Ar tonelico 2: Pretty much the same with Mana Khemia. I played the hell outta Ar tonelico and I hope 2 isn't too different from 1 (well, some changes wouldn't bother me *cough*). Uh if we get it, of course...

Knowing Bioware, you'll probably have many paths that converge to two ending options, which will be decided by one big choice near the end.

I'm pretty interested by Final Fantasy Tactics A2, which I hope will come stateside. I've always been lured in by sprite-based strategy RPGs though. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance wasn't a bad game by all means, but gave me no incentive to continue playing or come back to it ever again. I actually enjoyed Tactics Ogre more, for some unknown reason. I hope A2 fixes that problem.

Hm...

Final Fantasy IV remake - I am just intridged by how well they remade a classic. I am amazed that they remade it given they rereleased it on GBA just a few years back. Yet, here it is in all it's glory.

Mother 3 - Granted, it will have a fan translation but that still rocks.

Secret of Mana NDS Remake - Okay, so no such thing has been announced. but only can hope...right....RIGHT?!

Contact 2 - The first was original and awesome. I actually beat the game which is quite an accomplishment since I rarely beat games.

FInal Fantasy Crystal Cronicles - So far the few reviews there are have held up. Looking forward to seeing if this game really is decent despite it's crappy online mode.

Sonic RPG - Given how well Mario & Luigi RPG's have gone, this MIGHT just work. Given that BIoware is working on it, I wonder how it will all work out (perhaps Sonic will turn...TO THE DARK SIDE).

Phantasy Star Online NDS - You KNOW this would just go over so well with peeps. REmember how people loved PSO for Dreamcast? See that happen again but many more via Wireless NDS.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Star Ocean: The First Departure and whatever they're calling the second one, it's probably Star Ocean: The Revenge or something

I really liked Star Ocean 2, the story kept me entertained and the battle system didn't make me want to throw humanity out the window (the voice samples sure did though). I also gave my copy to RAB, so this is a pretty good excuse to buy the slightly remade PSP version. And I might as well be interested in the first, since.. it's Star Ocean!

Terranigma 2

Ah-...oh.

The World Ends with You

Not quite sure what this is even still about, but I've been interested in it ever since it was originally announced back in 1962. Goofy looking kids with zippers and belts all over their clothing "do you like my new hat? It has seven belts on it!" who kill shit in a big city using mind bullets or God knows what? Sounds like a plan. Plus Square actually announced the release for this in Europe before America (first time ever?), so I've gotta support that I guess. No not really. :]

Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk

I loved the first one, so yeah, I'm all for this cut and paste sequel! That Tales of 360 game looks pretty nice too.

When was the announcement made that Tales of Vesperia is coming to the 360? IGN doesn't have any platform info yet. For the moment, it's still up in the air. Could be/more than likely will be cross-platform. Found in a 12/26 Joystiq.com article.

The Tales of Symphonia sequel looks interesting, so I might check that one out. Wonder how they'll operate the controls. Hopefully they'll retain the battle system from Symphonia too, but I wouldn't count on it, since it's on the Wii.

White Knight Chronicles is clearly my pick of the century though. I've been a Level 5 fan since Dark Cloud originally came out, and WKC was ultimately the final push I needed to get my PS3. Very excited about this upcoming RPG from a talented team. Your own customizable character that follows along with the main character? Awesome.

Final Fantasy XIII should probably be a given. Not gonna post much about it, since there's a whole thread dedicated to why this game will rock. Versus XIII falls under the same category.

While I'm on the subject of Final Fantasy, both Dissidia: Final Fantasy and FF7: Crisis Core for the PSP are high up there on my list. Crisis Core's scheduled to release in March, so I'm really stoked about that one.

Too Human is yet another one. Until Mass Effect made an impression on my, Too Human was the only game I wanted a 360 for. Hopefully Silicon Knights will take all this delayed development time to make the game really shine.

Ohhh what else do we have here. Oh yeah, Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii. Looks interesting, I just hope the on-rails hack n' slash gameplay doesn't get old too quickly. Waiting for a little more info at this point though.

Dragon Quest IX has me intrigued, but I'm not real sure about it yet. I'd really rather not buy another system for a single game (lookin' at you, 360 and Wii), especially not if the game I buy the system for turns out to be mediocre at best (lookin' at you, NiGHTS. For shame).

Star Ocean: First Departure and, like Infernal just said, whatever the second one's subtitle is both look like really good PSP RPGs, and since I never really played through the second one, it'll be a great opportunity to play it through. Star Ocean 4's likely some time off in the far-away future, but I'd still like to play it, too.

Other RPGs like Last Remnant and Lost Odyssey are games I'm actually not really looking forward to. Maybe it's a lack of information on them or something, but they just don't strike me as "OMG lolz gots tah buy." Who knows though.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Star Ocean and Star Ocean 2: I hated SO3 but I've been told from my friend that SO2 is pure awesomeness, so I'll definitely pick that up if it ever comes to America. Same with Star Ocean.

If I had a Wii, I'd also get the Knight of Ratatosk. ToS is one of my favourite RPGs, so naturally I'd like to play a sequel. I'd rather control the cast from the first game instead of two nobodies though. All the VAs should come back too.

If I had a PS3, I'd get FFXIII. I loved FFXII so I'm having good expectations for the 13th game. I'd probably never get to play it though.

If I hadn't already imported the Japanese version, I'd also say Crisis Core.

Other than that, there's nothing else I can think of.

Uh. Wow, Jag.

Anyway. White Knight Story looks promising, but those mech-like battles make me hesitant. We'll see how things go with that, but I agree with Jag about the created character. Pretty neat, so long as he isn't silent and boring.

Dragon Quest IX could be immensely fun, but we'll see how the real-time combat goes. Level 5's games primarily use that style of combat, so I suppose they're suitable enough to get that kind of job done.

Tales of Innocence was released in Japan a few weeks ago, and I wouldn't mind seeing that come stateside. I've heard nothing but good things.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers has been my top watch for a long time, though. The last trailer shown off looked extremely promising, and I like the idea of a famous hero protagonist who is slowly becoming world-weary. I really hope that rumor about development being stalled isn't true.

And while there isn't any news about one, I'd really like to see a new RPG from Grasshopper Manufacture. They were responsible for my beloved Shining Soul series and its spiritual successor, Contact, so I'd really like to seem them get back to work on another one of those puppies.

I realize that Level 5's doing DQ9, but I still have my doubts. They're also making Professor Layton and it's sequel, both for the DS. Level 5 exudes talent, but I don't know that I'll wanna buy a DS just for DQ9. I've heard that DQ9 has kind of a focus on multiplayer, which is something I'm not too big on quite yet.

I could always change my mind though, we'll see.

I'm looking forward to...

Dragon Quest IX - I'm a huge fan of the series, so, I'm hoping for more goodness. And, it's even on the DS. Portable gaming FWT.

That Star Ocean 1 remake - I LOVE SO2, one of my favorite RPGs. However, I really don't need a remake of it... But, I always wanted to try the first game, but with bad luck with Roms and a glitchy computer, I couldn't. Of course, I still need to buy a PSP...

World Ends With You - I've been excited about this game since it was announced... whenever, and now that it's getting a US release, I'm, er, even more excited.

I put 360 down to play it safe. =) Namco sure do love the system. But yeah it'll most likely see a release on PS3 as well, since it's probably running off the Eternal Sonata engine, and that's headed to PS3.. one.. day!

Wait, you bought a Wii... for NiGHTS 2? For a Sonic Team game? You should have known as soon as it was announced that it'd be rubbish! That's as bad as buying a 360 for Bomberman Act Zero, or a 32X for.. games. And you don't want to buy a DS for a game by your favorite developer who are still known to make good games unlike Sonic Team who haven't for the last ten years? (They've also got some silly looking soccer RPG in development for DS! There's TWO games!) Also you're missing out on shitloads of other excellent games! Like Elf Bowling.
