VTM Bloodlines Patch help
I've searched around a bit and found out there was a lot of these patches floating around the net. First..Which is better, the Official or the Unofficial patch? Also there seems to be lots of versions of the unofficial ones. Which would you suggest be ok? I already started playing... I just finished the Elizabethan Dane quest. The first time I played it, I was able to reach the last mission by opening the technical panel thingy to pass this other messed up quest.... did the patch fix this?
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() from the makers of Death Note!! Bakuman. Am happy..because AgitoXIII and Parasite Eve 3 is a comin to the PSP!! |

Do a clean reinstall of the game, also delete your savagames. Simply start fresh.
Then you apply the latest official patch, that should be version 1.2. After that you get the latest fan-patch and apply it. The fan-patch only modifies scripting. It does not modify the buggy engine, so don't expect the fan-patch to fix crashes related to hardware incompatibilites. Vampire TMBL uses a very early Source engine beta, so bad performance should be expected. However the fan-patch fixes most of the scripting bugs and balances the game. You can check the ChangeLog of both the official and the fan-patch to check what was changed. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Ok I'll try that out. Thanks.
Just a question. Are the bugs that bad? I haven't experienced a crash but a walk-through warned of it. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() from the makers of Death Note!! Bakuman. Am happy..because AgitoXIII and Parasite Eve 3 is a comin to the PSP!! |

It really depends on the type of hardware you use. There are a lot of incompabitilites in the old Source engine. You're lucky when everything is running smooth for you.
I was too some time ago when I played through the entire game with only the latest official patch and no fan patch. I'm still wondering how I managed to play through the game without encountering one of the nasty script bugs. But still VTMB is a great game. The story is wonderful. What character are you playing by the way? I remember playing a Nosferatu ![]() Sadly the game won't run under linux, so I have to wait until wine improves. ![]() Most amazing jew boots |
When I tried the game before, I started with Gangrel. The second time I played Ventrue. Now, I'm playing Ventrue again. Nosferatu seems like a challenging class but the class has skills that help you become undetectable. I could do with a skill like that in the museum mission.
I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() from the makers of Death Note!! Bakuman. Am happy..because AgitoXIII and Parasite Eve 3 is a comin to the PSP!! |
