Yahoo Messenger just sits there.

Hey guys obviously I can browse the internet with this post, but when signing in to Yahoo messnger I just see that stupid Smiley for a long time and then it just goes back to the sign in box. I noticed that the grey icon on the systray just remains grey/white and the network connection icon seems idle (not blinking). It blinks for a few times when trying to connect but then it just goes idle while yahoo messenger still shows "signing in as..." I have uninstalled it twice now, even tried going back to version 7, and 30 minutes ago I tried the new beta version 9. Still I cant sign in and I dont get any invalid sername/password errors.

I can sign in to my email via mail.yahoo.com and I can even sign in to meebo.com! Something is wrong with the client. Please help me out

EDIT: I tried logging in using trillian but it basically just sits there too. I get no error message, just a "Creating connection..." message at the status window
