Corporate Income Tax

I need to find out how much corporate income tax Texaco paid last years. How do I go by this?

I didn't think corporate income taxes are a matter of public record.

I could be wrong, however. You'll be hard-pressed to find it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

http://biz.yahoo.com/ic/113/113205.html

It's a privately trade company. Good luck finding its financial statements. The company isn't required to reveal its financial statement to the public if it doesn't want to.

I guess you can find out the EBIT (earnings before income and taxes)

If it's a publicly trading compnay like Google, you can look at its income statement and find it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Take a trip to the Bahamas and nose around their private tax shelter. You probably won't find anything, but hey you're still in the Bahamas right? Have fun.

Well since you probably won't find the exact numbers, just take their revenue figures for last year and apply the 40% standard corporation tax rate.

Granted your numbers will probably be way off.

I've heard reports of Texaco/Chevron receiving tax credits (refunds) too, no idea if that's true though.

I was speaking idiomatically.

You're right about that. Most of them were in the newest energy bill passed by Congress.

There's no reliable way to measure how much money was paid in taxes by that company.
