Multitude of issues...

I decided to wait until I had a few problems to make a new thread in order to conserve new-thread making...

First and most importantly:

After playing Natural Selection for an hour or so it will freeze. Generally it happens when I'm moving rapidly around the map with the Fade's move "Blink". Granted that may be a bit more info than needed but I thought it would help.

Important info: Natural Selection is an FPS working of the Half-Life engine. It has fairly low graphics and it runs very slowly with good ping so I'm not sure there are issues as far as my computer being unable to handle it...

And speaking of my computer:

HP Pavilion zv6000
AMD Athlon 64 Processor
1.99 GHz
512 RAM (yes, this may be the issue!)

I can't figure it out, it never used to do this a few monthes ago. Who knows.

My other problem:
So two computers can't be connected to my wireless internet at once. I have comcast and it is a pretty decent connection. The wireless thing is a Linksys Access Point, which I think is the problem... any ideas here?

Then there's my last problem:
My friend's comp has a problem with pop-ups. She doesn't have to be in IE for hundreds of pop-ups to show up. She has run many anti-virus and sypware things that don't seem to help. Any ideas here as well?

Thanks for the help!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Problem 1:
Your laptop might be overheating. Try getting a cooling pad of some sort, and take a good can of compressed air to it would be my first suggestions. Also try checking your Event Log, under Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer, and the System and Application tabs. If you see any red-x errors, check them out.

I'd also recommend a running of some anti-malware program like Spybot Search & Destroy to see if it picks anything up, if you've not done so already.

Problem 2:
First, what's the model of the router, if you know?
Second, what's the actual error that gets spat out? If it's something like "IP Address already in use", follow the below--if not, ignore it and skip to problem 3's section.

Are both computers that try to connect set up with a static IP? If they are, that's your problem. IE, if both computers try to connect as 192.168.1.100, one will fail. Go into your Network Connections applet in the control panel, and on the appropriate connection, hit Properties.

From there, scroll down to "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", and hit properties on that. Make sure that Obtain IP address automatically and Obtain DNS servers automatically are both selected (the "Use the following" options not selected, basically).

Once that's done on both machines, disconnect them, and reconnect (or reboot, to be sure). See if that helps?

Problem 3:
Download and run CCleaner on her system. Have it fix everything it finds on both Application and Registry tabs. Or, to not go the instantly (possibly) destructive route, run Hijack this!, and post the logfile it produces back to this topic.

Someone will be able to take a look at it and give you more help.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

First of all, thank you!

My computer over-heating sounds very likely due to the fact that my fan recently crapped out on me. It still works it just struggles and makes a really awful noise when it tries to work. I'll be buying a new one next week so that will probobly solve the issue...

When either of us are connected to the internet it says "Limited or no connectivity" on the other computer and we cannot connect two at once.

And I'll try those two progs when I hang out with that girl again.

Thanks!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
