Dual Monitor Troubles

So having gotten a brand new 22" LCD monitor in black friday mayhem, I'm going to start to use a dual monitor setup with my old 20" CRT once I get back to my apartment. I'm giving it a test run using my laptop, but I'm having a problem.

When I set the resolution on the second monitor to 1680 x 1050 (the native res for it), something strange happens. The monitor works, I still things on it, but it's acting like my laptop's resolution. It's stretching as it it were 1280 x 800, and it scrolls; Like when the mouse goes to the edge of the screen, it's not the edge of the resolution, so the display follows the mouse. It's like a zooming program, except not a zooming program, and annoying.

Anyone know how to make it so it will display the correct resolution unstretched?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

You have to go into your videocard settings and switch the display mode to dual view instead of clone.

How ya doing, buddy?

That's exactly what the problem was. Thanks a ton!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
