Dress shirts
What are your thoughts on French cuffs? I've noticed that not a lot of people seem to wear them anymore. I guess they're out of style. I think they looked pretty damn nice. Pity that they're so hard to find though.
![]() How about dress shirts in general? I'm sure many of you guys had to wear a full suit and tie or at least business casual. I have to wear them quite often now because of my work. Any stylish trends you see going on? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() Dance party!

Wow. No one has an opinion? Or don't care?

Dress shirts are lame, simply because you are forced to tuck them in, or look like an ass. Turn or bend over the wrong way and you'll still look like an ass, since one side will stick out more than the other.
I think I would prefer just wearing a sportcoat over a regular shirt. Although I'd never pay over $30 for an article of clothing, so can't confirm whether that would look gay or not. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
My ass looks huge with formal clothing.
I blame rap music. (or maybe my huge ass) I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

I now exclusively wear dark colours so that I don't have to wash whites.

I'm hoping the shirts you included in your opening post aren't considered stylish nowadays, because I feel like they'd give me a headache if I had to look at one for more than two minutes.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I kind of like to dress up. =O I tend to go with the black suit, shirt and tie. Pin stripes are cool too. But then I don't bother with a tie.

That's something I would wear, but only in the rare occasion for it, like interviews/semi-formal events. Now I just have work, and work clothes for me are just whatever; but if I worked in a stricter (biznaz/money-money) firm, I'd pimp out in attire like that.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
First time I ever wore a dress shirt I thought the concept of cuff links was ridiculously retarded. Why not just have a button? Wastin' my time, man.
I like wearing dress shirts (or dressing up in general) only for special/important events. For other situations, I'd rather have some much more casual. In high school there would occasionally be guys that would dress up in dress shirts and slacks and all that just to look cool or something (as compared to the ones who had to to make a presentation). They looked pretty ridiculous in their formal/business attire in the middle of a high school. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
I can't stand french cuffs. I only where them when it is required (ie Formal Work Party, Navy Ball, etc).
I wear dress shirts to work every day. I am probably the closest to a trend setter at my work place. I routinely wear 3 piece suits, high contrast (tasteful) dress shirts and ties, etc. But I am 10-20 years younger than all of the other managers. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() "In a somewhat related statement. Hugging fat people is soft and comfy. <3" - Jan "Jesus, Gumby. You just...came up with that off the top of your head?" - Alice |
I think those look better than a pastel pink shirt but not by a very big margin.
I'm honestly a sports coat wearing kind of guy as in I wear 'em most everyday, but anything that makes me stick out too much I usually won't like. French cuffs to me are really just a formal event type of deal, though they don't really bother me much. Most amazing jew boots ![]() Juggle dammit |
I like dressing up, but you gotta do it right with dress shirts. Light colors are fine if you're dressing with a jacket, but if you're just sporting the dress shirt, I think it has to be a darker color. Right now, my favorite comination is a deep red dress shirt with black slacks, no tie.

I think they're ugly. I would never wear them.
For me each article of clothing I wear is a solid color, except for a few ties. Even the few ties that are not solid are all one color and almost look solid anyways, they just have a little bit of texture or something. I was speaking idiomatically. |
