Well into its third season now and I never even knew about it. Talk about living on cloud nine~

For those of you who don't know, Weeds is the story of a truly desperate housewife. Well... Former housewife. Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise-Parker) lives blissfully in the suburban community of Agrestic, CA; that is until her husband Judah drops dead of a heart attack (I find it oddly amusing that he is played by Jeffrey Morgan, who also played a heart attack victim in Grey's Anatomy in the first season) and leaves her with both kids and a mortgage payment. Naturally, the only choice here is to become the "baroness of bud" and sell the stickiest of the icky to desperately boxed and suffocating suburban families. Not very promising material, if I do say so myself, but a surprise to me nonetheless.

So let's smoke on this: Has anyone seen the show and liked it? I bought seasons 1 and 2 on DVD and I'm currently keeping up with season 3 when I can catch it.

Weeds is GOD.

The first season was absolutely hilarious, the second season very DEEP (lacking a better word here) and the third season seems to be a thriller. I like the morphing they got going there. And also Parker.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It has Elizabeth Perkins and Mary Louise Parker, two extremely under-utilized but excellent actresses (and no altogether uneasy on the eyes either!), so it's on my to-watch list.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Which one is elizabeth perkins? Weeds is one of my favorite shows on the air right now. I'm looking to check out Flight of the Conchords. Mary-Kate's role is quite hilarious.

You need to watch Flight of the Conchords right now. I caught that this summer, and I laughed harder at it than any other show in recent memory.

Back on topic, how easy would it be to start watching with the third season? I've been meaning to check out Weeds for quite awhile, but just never got around to it.

The third season starts right where the second ended, so you would have no idea what's going on, who's who, etc. Best thing is to download/buy the first two seasons, if you want to have a clue of what's going on.
