Graphic card installation problems

Long story short:

I recently tried to upgrade to a 512mb graphics card, and for the life of me I cannot get it to work. I know that everything is working, and when I plug it in, and boot from another graphics card, it is detected, everything boots okay, etc. etc. But when I plug my monitor into it and try and boot off of it alone, I get a blank screen, but I can hear the computer booting. It installs the drivers and everything, but still will just not display anything.

How can I get this to work? >.>

Trying to upgrade to a Radeon X1300 XGE, have tried two of them, so it is not a faulty card.

I suppose the other card is on-board or something? Try to disable it in the BIOS.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Rambus memory!? Rare. But yeah, try out what Grawl said; should be something like "video out" and set that to AGP.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
