Wifi Amplifier
So the situation is this: I have got a wireless connection in a pretty big house, but luck has it that my room has the shittest reception. The main computer (where the router is) is on the other side of the house.
I could get another, more powerful wireless router but I managed to get this router for free so I was thinking of seeing if there were such thing as a Wi-fi amplifier. I would like to know if there are any devices that pick any wifi signal up and amplify it so that the internet speeds for when I'm in my room remain constant. Also, I'm looking for maybe something USB based, maybe allowing me to connect it to a game console's USB port (therefore freeing up the usb ports on my laptop). Thanks in advance. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
You need something called a wireless repeater / extender.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Wifi range extenders actually cost as much and more than the routers.
You could make your own... as noted by this website: http://www.instructables.com/id/EQARE4I72GEPUCHTHU/ This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
