Question Any albums you would recommend?

Well, since I switched my isp, I've got nice speed of 40 KB/s dl speed, and I'm amazed how in the beginning of June my queue list has been cleaned up. I'm out of album(s) to download now. I wonder if you could recommend me albums that sound either jazzy, classical, or anything light-hearted? (or anything obscure you want other people to listen). I dont want to waste my money on this expensive internet subscription without downloading less than 4 GB/month. >_> /greedy

Mod, feel free to move this audio request forum if it's not appropriate.

thanks in advance

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The Mr. Methane CD, purchased over ebay for .01¢. Yeah, free shipping. This guy performs all sorts of neat stuff, including the doot doot, doot doot from the Blue Danube.

Allow me to share a track from this CD. Here ya go.
I think he should have paid you .01¢ instead.

I'm currently obsessing with Kamelot, so it would be nice if you want to try them out. They're metal though. Many say they're power metal, but I would put them in the progressive metal category. If you decide to give it a run, I would say listen to their 3 latest album Epica, Black Halo and Ghost Opera. I recommand those three because they are the one that hooked me in, the previous albums are really good also. They're such a gang of serious musicians and make awesome awesome music.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

ah I think I will pass that one, sorry, my ear couldnt really stand metal music >_>; (though I quite enjoyed Ar tonelico OST, could it be considered metal?). I would like to know if you have other recommendation though.

How ya doing, buddy?

No, Ar Tonelico is definitely not metal. Heavily use of synth and very much little of distortion guitar would not make it metal.

On top of my head know, I'm thinking of John William's Summon the Heores It's a compilation of a bunch of heroic themes. NBC used that for one of the Olympic festivals I guess. Eventhough John doesn't compose all of them, but he performed this with the Boston Pop orchestra. Great great music. My favorite track is "The olympic spirit."
Another great one just pop on my head is Blackmore's Knight. This is a band formed by ex Deep Purple guitarist Richie Blackmore. Don't worry, this is absolutely not metal at all. The music they play falls strongly into folk category, with a lot of Renaissance era sense in it. Again, great music with beautiful melody, soothing harmony and memorable lyric. You should check them out. If you want I can upload some.

Video games music wise, I think you are more knowledgable than me, so I wouldn't dare to suggest much. Although, any chance that you haven't run into great PC music stuff like No one lives forever, A.P.J (jazz) or Brothers in Arms, Ghost Recon (contemporary instrumental), they're really worth given a try.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Ah, It seems John William's Summon the Heroes is very interesting any chance you might upload it? I have listened some of his score, and still trying to appreciate his works (I could never really enjoy movie musics for unknown reason).

Just like you said, I havent listened much pc music, so I guess I will hunt albums you recommended then!

I was speaking idiomatically.

Well, aside from VGM, I'd definetly recommend you check out the following artists:

Thievery Corporation
Boards of Canada
Amon Tobin (Bonus: Composed the Splinter Cell 3 OST)
Fat Jon & Nujabes (Both worked on the Samurai Champloo Anime soundtrack)
Outkast (Yes they are a Hip-Hop duo, but they've made some very relaxing tunes regardless, even if most of their stuff is faster paced)
Talib Kwalie (Ditto)
Yes (The band is indeed called that)
Infected Mushroom

Those artists should be plenty for you to sort through. If you need any songs or albums by them to start with, give me a PM and I'll zip them up for you to download :3
