O.C. Brush Fire Forces Hundreds from Homes

taken from http://abclocal.go.com

Fueled by strong winds and dry weather, a small brush fire quickly erupted Sunday, burning 2,036 acres of parched hillside and charring two houses while families in over 500 homes were evacuated.
The fire, stoked by hot dry winds and fueled by chaparral, spread south and west quickly in an unincorporated part of Orange County and threatened multimillion-dollar homes here and in Anaheim Hills, about 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles. Authorities said the blaze may have been started by a vehicle fire, and were investigating if the car was stolen and set on fire to destroy evidence.
Through the afternoon, winds blowing up to 35 mph had made firefighting difficult for the more than 800 firefighters on the scene. Daytime temperatures were in the 90s and humidity was at 5 percent.
I am so shock before the wild fire incident today. You guys must be in great crisis now. Witnessing the fire, I can't help but bear a great sadness for those who already lost and nearly lost their homes. Pack up and evacuate if neccessary. Anything that you do, just be safe and come back larger than life, OK? I wish you all the good.

Thanks Crash London for reminded me about the article.

I understand your concern, but unless you'd care to provide some news articles and something more factual to discuss than your sympathies, I'm going to ask that this be turned into a Journal entry rather than a thread.

However, I'll leave this open for a short while so that you can add discussion material if you wish. It's a valid subject and there's potential here.

EDIT: Okay, a newslink has been provided, so this thread will stay open.

I wonder if Niekon has been affected by these fires. I know he lives in Anaheim. Hope he's doing well. Perhaps he can use the flames and smoke to make some really good barbecue.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I live in Anaheim as well, and its Anaheim Hills to the east of Anaheim that was affected. All Anaheim got was an ashy afternoon and alot of smoke on the freeway.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
Is there a Deadwood board game out yet?
