Installing XP over Vista
I'm getting a new laptop that will come with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. I'm mainly worried about software compatibility (planning on using Cubase SX3). Is it possible to install XP on the same hard drive, without uninstalling Vista? (meaning I'd get the choice of which OS to boot from when I open my computer)
Thanks ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
No.
Is a dual-boot possible, but difficult? Yes, but the operating systems must always be installed from oldest to newest. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Perhaps you can wipe the drive, throw WinXp on there (partitioning the drive first), THEN use your WinVista CD to throw Vista on the free, empty partition. problem solved?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
