When Fake fur feels real...it probably is...
Apparently some coats bought at high end stores contain canine-related fur

And besides....aren't raccoon dogs endangered? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
A friend of mine had a racoon dog that got cataracts and fell off a cliff.
![]() Though it did have luxurious fur..... There's nowhere I can't reach. |
so is that like "when it's too good to be true, it probably isn't"
lesson: don't buy fur in the first place Most amazing jew boots
Hold on just one second....when I signed up for life, this was not what I was expecting. Can I get a refund?

So they tested 25 coats? I'm no scientist, but this hardly seems a large enough sampling. Also, the Human Society (who obviously has an agenda) did the "survey." Do you think it's possible that they chose coats they could already tell by the texture were dog fur? Maybe?
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Isn't the point, though, that it's happening at all? =o I mean, off the cuff it seems like you'd have to have really shoddy quality to control to "accidentally" use real fur instead of fake fur in the manufacturing.
I was speaking idiomatically. |

Maybe it's just too early in the morning for me to get it, but why are these shops advertising fake fur when it's real? Just because it comes from dogs?
I mean hell, if they're gonna use real fur, might as well use it from animals that not only aren't endangered, but domesticated and repopulated regularly. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? Reading -- Bleach, Claymore, Chun Rhang Yhur Jhun, NOW, Zero: Beginning of the Coffin, Black God, Twelve Kingdoms (novels), History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi Watching -- Bleach Playing -- Fable II, Valkyria Chronicles, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Star Ocean: First Departure, LittleBigPlanet, MegaMan 9, Mirror's Edge |
Probably because they know that if they want their stuff to sell it has to be marketed as fake.

Loophole:
"fake fur" refers to there being no mink or ermine. So, yes, these were fake furs. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I always thought the coats with the fur lining looked dead wrong and horrible. Many a time I've actually said "that looks like road kill" basically because it looks nasty and horrible.
It makes me sad to think people like wearing fur and that people do pay money for it and I always thought that fake fur was a good idea. But why would some one use the fur from a domesticated dog to put on a coat? It's sick. Wonder if people who've bought the coats have still kept them or took them back because of false advertising? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I think its just another example of the corporations being able to get away with false advertising and trying to cheat the system. I happens often, and it seems that these things turn up whenever there is an investigation. The Fifth Estate and Marketplace on CBC finds all sorts of things companies try to get away with. An example is the canned Tuna with levels of mercury over Health Canada guidelines....

How ya doing, buddy? |
There's a whole bunch of clothes out there that feel "soft and cuddly" without needing to KILL A FUCKING ANIMAL IN THE PROCESS just to get the same satisfaction. How ya doing, buddy? |
