sound wont work
When i try to play music, a wndow pops up and says
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." I have know idea what caused the problem and how to fix. ![]() How ya doing, buddy? |
Do you have a sound card or onboard sound? If you do, open up the task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) to see if there's a program open that could be using it. Make sure that the correct sound device is enabled in the BIOS, too. If you don't have a sound card or onboard sound, you're not going to be able to get any sound playback. Though I'm guessing you've got one of those, otherwise you wouldn't have anything to plug your speakers into.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager
Expand "Sound, video and game controllers". What do you see? How ya doing, buddy? |
