New hard drive with a possible problem?

Ok, so, new hard drive. After reformating the old one, (again), it seems to work just fine, so everything is stored on the new hard drive and all programs are on the old one. When I access the New hard drive and I have winamp playing, the song stops playing. I'm not streaming, not playing it from my pen drive, nothing like that. My two hard drives are ATA, my motherboard isn't spiffy enough to support SATA. I've also never had more then one HD in a PC before. Is this a normal thing? Is this a RAM issue? I have 512, but is this my PC stating I need more? I've been mulling it over in my mind and the only thing I can really think of is RAM...

Things that have been tried to fix this:
restart
defrag
error check

Things I've done recently that seem unrelated to me:
Flushed the DNS
Cleared history
Deleted cookies
Deleted internet files

What I want to do:
Throw my PC out the window

I'm sure some of the info was unecessary, but I wanted to make sure I gave you guys all the info to help me...

Jam it back in, in the dark.
