Digital Camera recommendations?

I need one for ebay selling and other little odds and ends. Not looking to pay a great deal (actually looking for the cheapest thing I can buy), but I want something that won't conk out after taking 3 photos.

Any brands or models recommended? Thanks in advance.

For Point-and-Shoot, Canon Powershot's the way to go. Nikon's Coolpix line isn't bad, and there are a few rare Sony/Panasonic/Fuji models that do OK, but Canon's just leagues ahead of all the other point-and-shoots.

For DSLR, Nikon or Canon - you won't go wrong with either. Hold one of each and go with the one that feels more comfortable in your hands. Not even kidding - that's the way to pick between the two systems if you don't have a pile of old equipment from one of them.

Since you're looking at EBay selling, I'd go with something at least 6 to 7 megapix, point and shoot or not.

If you're seriously looking into photography, go with the Canon Digi Rebel XT or XTi, it's spendy, but well worth it.

I haven't used Nikon so im not going to badmouth it since well..a camera is a camera.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I don't recommend buying huge resolution compact cameras, because the size of the CMOS sensors remain the same size while they blow up the resolution, resulting in a worse quality image. If you want high megapixels (which you don't since you have a low budget) then buy something with a large sensor to compensate i.e. DSLRs.

Honestly, an amazing camera. Or so I think. And it's marked down at stores like J and R and Circuit City.

Casio Exilim EX-Z60 - It's $170 and has pretty good quality. Maybe 1 out of every 15 of my pictures is blurry, and it's usually because it's my fault. But, it's good for taking a few pictures here and there, and good for anyone looking for something they can carry around with them. It also has an option to take pictures for eBay. Now, I don't know what that means exactly, or what it does differently. But it might be something you wanna look into.

Why not just buy a camera on ebay? Since you're not interested in really taking it anywhere a second-hand one might be perfect for you (especially if they throw in a larger memory card with it so you don't have to bother going out and buying one elsewhere). I think my dad found my camera (Nikon Coolpix 3700) on eBay for $50, which I think is a pretty good deal since it ought to be able to take whatever pictures you'd need with it for ebay.

Check on pricegrabber. I suggest any of the Canon Powershots. Many people have the 600 & 630 model.

For example I am getting a Canon SD 900.
