I just moved where I'm at now yesterday. I've moved far too many times in my life and it got me counting... At least once in Guatemala before leaving for the states in 1984, eleven in California and ten in Nevada if we don't count the different places I did time at since that wasn't a choice. In Guatemala it hasn't even been seven months yet and this is my fifth place already. All totaling for 27 places in my 25 years of life.

I've met a few people that have lived in the same house their entire life. I wonder what that must be like? Any of you here like that? There's probably some with fifty moves under their belt.

Oh yeah, 28 moves because I forgot our failure in Miami back in 1994.

I've lived in...7 places with my family (New York, Colorado, New Jersey x3, New York, Virginia), 3 places at school in Utah (effectively just call it one since it's all at school, I think), and 4 places in California on my mission, but those were mandated moves so I'm not sure they count. Six states, and I'd say 10-12 different locations. Not too bad - the only bad move was from New York to Virginia my senior year of high school, because of friends issues and the fact that I essentially lost about 15 college credits' worth of classes.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I've lived in four houses in my lifetime, and that's mainly because of my parents getting divorced. If it wasn't for that, we'd probably still be in house number two. Boy, was that a great place. :memories:

Lived in Nashville my whole life. Wait, I guess living at the dorms in Memphis counts, although that never really felt like "home", with the regular trips back and all.

What's it like living in one place all your life? It sucks. I hate this state and all the people living here so much.

I suppose I've moved twice in my life. When I was 3 or 4, we moved from a small apartment (of which I have no memories of) to a nice little house in a quiet neighborhood. I lived there until about a year and a half ago, and now I'm living in a bigger house about 3 miles from where I previously lived. I've lived in the same town since birth.

I think I prefer staying in the same place rather than moving around. Just moving a few miles out caused enough inconvenience, without also having to meet all new people, learn new geography, etc.

I was born and raised in the same place. For my sister, who is a couple years older than me, has moved once. My parents and my sister move just before I was born. When I look at the photos from long ago, I think about how much the place has changed. Hmmm... ondering:

From what I CLEARLY remember, it's at least 7. 6 times in Virginia, and I lived in a place in Georgia.

That's from what I remember though - I lived in New York, just not sure how many different houses. Same with South Korea, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. If I assume one (since I was around 4-5 in Georgia) for each of the one's I don't remember, that's 4 more - giving me a total of 11.

I'm moving into a new place this Thursday, and it will count for the seventh time I've had to move all my shit around. Its not too bad, because I don't have a whole lot of shit to move. I plan on moving again a year after that.

One of my buddies that I know from highschool is still living in his home with his dad. He's 26, doesn't really pay any bills, and works a near minimum wage job with only a highschool education. I know that he could afford to rent a two-bedroom apartment with a roommate, but there's no way of convincing him to draw him away from his life of work-eat-sleep-play games in the basement.

Of course, it could be worse...he could be his older brother who has a BS in Civil Engineering, but has sat on his ass four years out of school having never had a job (still doesn't have a job).

And then there's Dan. He decided that the best way of living for him was, rather than get an apartment for ~850 a month, he would buy his parent's house at a steal for $350,000. He's paying over two grand a month just on payments and he's barely breaking even on his bills.

I've moved twice, not counting my breif time in Europe.

I was born in one house, then my dad was transfered out to Calgary. We lived there for a grand total of about a year, until my dad got a new job back in Winnipeg. I've been here ever since.

useless fact, i know a girl who's lived in 7 different countries. I have enough trouble with the idea of moving within my own city, let alone overseas (again, not counting me in Europe)

I've only lived in two places so far which kind of sucks seeing as i'm 19years old now. I lived in maltby rotherham for 18 years and now I'm residing in a city called nottingham for university.

I'm lucky my family hasn't considered moving. I've lived in my current house my whole life, and I've grown attached to it and it's community (i.e. school, friends). I've made such good friends at my current school and would rather not leave them, anyway.

I escaped along with my parents because of a civil war in my native country, the then came to the US, then moved again to GA .So 3 or 4 maybe im forgetting one..

I've moved a total of 8 times due to my father being in the navy back when I was young. It was all state side moves but it was always a big pain in the ass cause I remember one year I ended up going to 4 different schools.

But on the bright side I got to see alot of things cause of it.

It's cool to know so many different areas, but at the same time I wish I could've stayed somewhere and be a complete master of the area. I had a friend in Los Angeles and she knew that whole city end to end because of living in the same place her whole life. Closest I got to that was Vegas I guess.

Lived in the same house for the past 23 and a bit years. Sure, I've thought about moving, but have never gotten around to it. Sometime soon though, maybe.

I have no real desire or need to move again any time soon but if I was going to look to buy a flat or house then I'd at least have to consider moving a little further out than where I currently am.

I've moved three times. The first move involved my entire family coming from a military base in the Philippines to another base in California. My family moved again when my father was transferred to a different base about two hours away, and my last move occurred when I started university and moved away from my parents.

I moved for the first time when I was 12 and once more during high school. Then, college kicked in and I made the bright decision to go to school 8 hours away. Since then I've moved 6 times in the last 2 1/2 years, 4 times alone my freshman year. And now I might move again because my landlord is going through a fucking divorce and didn't have the decency to tell me this little factoid when I moved in.

I hate moving with a fervor and everything associated with it. The last time I moved, I had $1500 worth of handbags stolen and a lamp broken.
