GameCube Thread

It's no news that the Wii is able to play GC games. And while we'll all spent our time playing mainly Wii games (nearly everyone), playing some good ol' GC games will be fun too. And since there is no GC thread yet, I'm making myself one - for all to enjoy.

Will you play GC games on your Wii? What are the best GC games in the world? Do you still play on your GC and refuse to buy a Wii?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Some people just play Gamecube cuz they can't find a wii! Right now I've been playing Baten Kaitos 2 on my wii, just because I never got around to it on the gamecube. I was mostly playing it to pass the time before my component cables came in for Zelda. If anyone wants a gamecube game to play it should be this one.

I'm definitely getting all the great GC games I missed out on once I get my Wii. Killer 7 and RE4 are at the top of my list.

I'll most likely play all my GC games on the Wii but will keep my GameCube anyway for the Game Boy Player.

So, does the Wii automatically boot up Gamecube games in progressive scan if they support it (And it's enabled in the Wii's menu) or do you still have to press B when you start the game?

It basically automatically holds down B for you (if you have 480p enabled in the Wii Menu), so that when compatible GC games boot up, they ask you if you want to enable progressive.

My gamecube will retire and collect dust. The Wii I shall play for years to come.

I will play plenty of GC games, too.

Alas, the 'ole Gamecube is worth less in trade-in $ than it would cost me to buy 1 Gamecube controller. Therefore, the box (Xbox is a box? Gamecube, now that's a box!) is going to sit in a dark drawer. My GC games will be going into the Wii.

I envy the people who never shelled out for a GC but now have a Wii - there is a great library of GC games out there, even though it's not nearly as big as the amount of great games in the PS2 library...

Tell me about it. It's not easy being a PC gamer for as long as I have been and never having touched a console game all that time. If I told you about all the console game greatness I've missed all this time we'd both be here till the cows came home.

I love how Nintendo consoles just never seem to die. My NES still works for the most part...

I love my Gamecube. I've only been able to play some of the big hits, and I'm really looking forward to picking up some of the classics and lesser known titles that I've missed. I think this is my entire collection (I would recommend them ALL if you haven't played them):
Super Mario Sunshine
Legend of Zelda: The WindWaker
Metroid Prime
Beyond Good and Evil
Skies of Arcadia
Pikmin
The thing I'm most proud of, is that the gamecube is the only console I've ever finished every game I owned, they're just all that good.

I want to try out Paper Mario, Baiten Kaitos, the Resident Evil games, Cubivore, Fire Emblem, etc...

How ya doing, buddy?

I'm not taking out my GC anytime soon, and I still have bunch of games for it I wanna play. I might move it to another TV sometime though. It's a minor convenience now. I just keep whatever GC game I'm playing in there and leave my Wii for Wii games. LOL lazy...

Plus my GC has the GameBoy Player, which I haven't used lately. But it might get some use sometime again.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Gotta love the ability to be a fucking cheap ass.

I don't have too many Gamecube games and if anything I'll probably just use them on my Wii. It's actually a good idea to have the option of playing Gamecube, NES, SNES, Megadrive, N64 and Wii games all in one.

I could say my xbox does the majority of that, but Gamecube games aren't playable for it, nor are some N64 games. Since the GC's dead down here I'll probably end up selling it, I guess.

Still need to pick up Ikaruga, god damnit.

I don't even officially own a Gamecube... I just borrowed it off my next door neighbor. She never asked for it back.

When I do get a Wii, I'll probably play all the games i've been intending to play:

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Skies of Arcadia Legends

And that's probably it for now.

Great list, KnowsSomething. There are 7 on it that I still want to try out, even though the GC is supposedly dead.
