FLV patch for MPC?
Some of my .flv files have a distorted ghosty looking problem on playback when playing in Media Player Classic. Is there a fix for this? Some .flv files are messed up like this, but the majority of them playback just fine.
Anyone know why this affects some .flv files? Maybe because they were another format before it was converted into .flv? I got this one from YouTube, so maybe it was in .avi or something before they uploaded it, and when it got uploaded it was converted to .flv. I don't know. Here is a side-by-side comparison of the distortion and all that. It has a purplish haze over the whole movie, there are shadows of the main objects on screen, and unique to this one is a whole bunch of blue lines in the middle. ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Chocorific |
There won't be any patch for MPC because it is not responsible for decoding content of FLV containers (FLV uses a bunch of codecs to encode the content). I suppose you're using ffdshow for FLV decoding, so maybe you want to update this one.
FLV support in ffmpeg (which ffdshow uses) is highly experimental and WIP. It sometimes works and sometimes not, sometimes with glitches. WMV3 is a bit better ![]() I you're not using ffdshow for decoding -> forget what I said. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
