How long could you sleep?

Well, I think I couldnt sleep more than 7 hour these days, if I cross that line I will get very terrible headache when waking up from the deep slumber. What is the longest duration you could take? Also, does anyone know why sleeping too much giving us headache when waking up?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I believe 16 hours was my longest. But that was probably when I was sick. I don't know about headaches but I do know that more sleep doesn't mean you'll wake up nice and refreshed.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

16 hours... O.o; talk about hibernation! I forgot to mention that I also suffer low blood pressure, perhaps that is the reason I got headache every morning.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Not counting sickness the longest I could go is probably 13 hours. Although regardless of when I go to sleep if I wake up past 11 I'm not getting back to sleep until its the afternoon.

Eight hours is pretty much the optimal number for me. Any less and I feel like I need more, but any more and I feel shanked when I get up. I can very easily manage up to 18 hours though and indeed have done in the past few weeks after missing a night of sleep. I couldn't do that without having missed a night and consequently being extremely tired though.

My longest ever is about 21 hours, which occured right after final night at a camp I counselored at. I stayed up the last two nights, so I was pretty damn tired by the time I got home. I went to bed at 3:00 PM and didn't wake up until noon the next day.

I've done twelve on more than one occasion. I know I can do more, it's just when two o'clock rolls around I know someone's gonna kick my ass out of bed and I'd rather do it on my own. I don't really do that anymore though; I tend to get around 9 hours on average, because that's what my body likes.

If left to my own devices, I would probably sleep around 9 1/2 to 10 hours and would most likely wake up feeling like crap. 8 1/2 to 9 hours is the perfect amount of sleep for me.

There is a theory by some leading sleep specialist (I can't remember his name at the moment) that most of us are so sleep deprived that when we sleep more than we're used to we wake up feeling awful because, after a full night's sleep (or more), our bodies are more fully aware of the fatigue caused by the sleep deprivation that many of us live with. I say bullcrap because I am not sleep deprived and still feel crappy when I've slept more than usual.

I usually sleep around 10-12 hours a day. Yeah, I'm a fucking bear. But I thoroughly enjoy it.

When I'm sick I can sleep for anywhere up to 24 hours solid. In fact, I've done 24 hours exactly. My mother had to check to see if I was still alive during the day. I don't get sick very often though so sleeping that long is a pretty rare thing to have happen.

I think, at most, I've done twelve hours. That span of time is usualy reserved for weekends and holidays. Normally, though, it ranges from six to eight, depending on when I go to sleep.

How ya doing, buddy?

I'm not a morning person. Any less than 10 and I will hate the world for about the first few hours that I'm awake. I don't really like this aspect of myself and wish I could do more on less sleep, but... I can't. My bed is just 20x comforting than anything outside of it. Would I sleep forever if I could? I dunno.

I think the longest I've slept is about 14 hours. I was sick in some type of way, I don't recall how, but I didn't want to wake up and found that I could spend the day in bed if I wanted to. I didn't really feel sick or tired, it was just that if I wanted to sleep for hours I could... I think it turned out I had strep throat (but I don't remember having a sore throat).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

He sums it up for me. I can sleep all the way, as long as I have nothing important to take care off and hunger don't get to me. Sleeping is one gooood feeling.

On a side note, a very obvious but often missed cause of wake-up headaches is dehydration, of which a headache is an extremely common symptom. Even if it means getting up for a piss later on, it's best to have at least one big glass of water before you go to sleep.

Eight hours, tops. I usually only sleep five or six hours a night. I don't have a very consistent sleep schedule - I'll go to bed somewhere between 10 PM and 2 AM and get up somewhere between 5 AM and 8 AM, even on weekends.

I'm not a morning person or anything, just never been able to sleep much. Kind of sucks because I'm tired most of the day and that makes me even less motivated than I already am.

I think 14 hours straight was the most I've ever slept. I had just returned from an overseas vacation and I couldn't adjust my hours yet. These days, my average is somewhere between 6-8 hours of sleep.

I've rarely slept much longer than 12 hours, 14 has got to be the most I've ever been asleep for, but I honestly can't remember all that well. Nowadays at college I usually get anywhere between 6-8 hours of sleep, depending on my schedule.

I have noticed on days where I sleep in later (like weekends) I feel terrible when I get up.

At the most I've probably done 10-11 hours, and that's the max I can ever do, at least at this point.

My dad told me a story about how he slept one night on a Saturday and then woke up the next Monday afternoon. He thought it was Sunday, so he was all "why the fuck are there so many people eating on a Sunday?" when he went to work that day. Kinda sad but funny at the same time.

I always sleep a lot. I probably have some sort of problem I'm unaware of or something. The most I've ever slept? Probably around 20 hours. I need to set an alarm or have one of my parents wake me up or I WILL sleep all day. And when I wake up I feel terrible.

I can sleep 18 hours each day when I am not busy. I can even break it down to vampireism and sleep up to 22 hours with out being sick.

11 hours max. I have never slept anywhere longer than that, and if I did, I would scold myself with random clobbering material, as I absolutely detest sleeping for too long. I love to stay up late and wake up early, though I'm aware that this isn't always possible for me

20 hours when I get depressed. I have about 2 hr sleep cycle so any number divisible by 2 starting at 6 on up will allow me to wake up and function without falling on my face. 6 hours and 12 hours are my optimum times.

The most that I sleep is around 12 hours. This is reserved for the weekend though. During the week I am only able to manage 10 at the most.

I have trouble sleeping. I can't sleep more than 5 hours straight. I always manage to wake up for a couple of minutes (even happened to be couple hours a few times), then get back to sleep for maybe another 4-5 hours. I always end up being tired all day long, hoping I might finally get a 8-hour straight sleep tonight, in vain.
