Fall/Autumn is upon us!

I made a season topic a long ways back about your favorite seasons. Well my favorite season is upon us. The crisp cool air, the orange/red leaves falling from the trees. It is truly a great season. It is cool and crisp, but not bleak and dead like the winter. It is like everything springs to life one last time before it dies.

Nothing beats sitting by the window as I watch TV on a fall night and have that cool, fresh, crisp air blowing on your face.

Anyone else love fall a lot?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Persephone returns to the Underworld. The trees begin to molt and the air becomes more frigid.

I love all the seasons, though summer less as much. Autumn is good for windy days (I was suddenly reminded of Winnie-the-Pooh), Thanksgiving, the colors in the scenery, and the potential for snow.

How ya doing, buddy?

I love fall.

Except that it like... snowed today. Beat the earliest snow of the year for this area by a week. XD

Aw, heck, I love snow too.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm just glad my new jacket has a zip out thinsulate liner. Its going to get mighty cold this weekend, and windy. I also got a new pair of thinsulate lined gloves in prep for the cold winters days where I have to drive to work at 6 A.M.

Two things: THANK GOD

And,

FINALLY

Jesus christ, I couldn't take the heat for another day! It's so refreshing to feel a cool, moisture-free breeze on my face, after all these months. It makes me feel so fresh and alive! One of our local meteorologists said that it is going to be getting colder and colder. Well, heh, bring it on! I can't wait!

I was speaking idiomatically.

It just went directly from Summer to Winter, here in Pittsburgh. A couple days ago it was 80 degrees and sunny. Tommorow it's supposed to snow.

Man, it's taking me a while to get back in the swing of what to wear for colder weather.

I do hope I get to enjoy REGULAR Fall before it really snows a lot. Who knows though...

Autumn? What's that?

While southern MN didn't get much snow, the rain earlier did us in. It froze and cause part of I-35 to close this morning.

I did hear that northern Wisconsin got 6" of snow.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Sigh. Still just as warm. Got a norther tonite but it won't be too vicious. Still, hummingbirds are here in huge amounts and birds flew south in September. Signs of a harsh winter around here!

Shitloads of rain today~

The only season that I really love is winter, but I like everything about fall, too. The cool air, the leaves changing colors and falling, and the relaxed atmosphere are all really nice.

I don't know if we're going to really have a fall this year, though! It was pretty shocking here in Iowa...it went from 80 degrees on Sunday to 40 degrees and really windy yesterday, and today we had flurries! It hasn't been very fun for me...my body takes forever to adjust to changes in temperature, and I was standing outside for about two hours yesterday, shivering the whole time.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm not too fond of winter because I tend to catch a cold or get a sore throat easily during those months. I do enjoy fall and spring though because the weather is neither too hot nor too cold in my area. Extreme cold or heat generally fall low on my list of favorite seasons.

I dont know. Living in Southern Cali our falls are pretty much like our summers. Maybe 1-2 degrees cooler. I like winter more since it (sometimes) brings rain. Otherwise it's sunny all year round. Well, usually.. it is. Last year (or was it 04?)wasn't exactly 'dry'. If anyone here is from Cali and remembers.. They probably know what I mean.. Hello mud slides.

Though I hear this year our winter is suppose to be much wetter. It'll be warmer than normal but wet atleast.

Fall weather sort of messes me up because I never know what type of weather to dress for. The mornings are distressingly fridgid and then come noon, the sun is out and burning a hole in my head.

Layers layers but I don't care to tote around layers around school.

The actual temperature may peak up and down during this time of transition, but the average temperature keeps getting lower every day. It's a wonderful thought.

Well, we are in a period in my area called Freeze Fall.... meaning it freezes overnight, barely goes above 0C (32F) during the day and usually accompanied by flurries, sometimes snow.... Meh. Might as well get it now...

I'm lucky that I never have that problem. I hardly EVER get cold. For me to start shivering, it needs to get below 10 degrees. Overall I guess I have a high body temperature, because it takes an awful lot for me to get chittery cold.

I usually wear short until about 40-45 degrees. Then I'll wear sweat pants(I love sweat pants) and short sleeved top or very light jacket depending on windchill once it gets about 35 degrees. Once it gets below that I I definitely wear a light jacket, like a hoodie or something.

I hardly ever wear heavy jackets. When it gets really cold like from 10-20 I'll usually wear a long sleeved shirt, a hoodie, and a winter hat to pull over my ears if needed.

What a timely time to make this topic, seeing as summer skipped over autumn and went straight on into winter here. This is the earliest I ever remember seeing snow. I only dug my jacket out of my closet last week, too.

Even better, in the Buffalo area, there's been as much as 2 feet of snow in some areas.

Can't wait for it to hit 60 again next week.

It went from Summer, to Winter, back to Summer, had 2 days of fall weather, then back to Winter. Two days ago it was in the 70s. Now it's close to the fucking 20s.

I definitely like it now that it's cooler. Makes my commuting much more comfortable. As a favorite season, probably not; but I have no real basis for this. There's things I like to do in the winter (snowboarding, etc), summer (vacationing, etc, though I guess that doesn't apply to me anymore).

But it's most fun and comfortable to just go out in the spring/fall, whether for some outdoor sports or going out for the evening, etc.

Fall is wonderful. The feeling of walking outside on a crisp, cool, sunny day is amazing. Today was pretty chilly, though.

I love snow, but hate ice. So I'm kind of iffy about Winter. I hate Winters where there is no snow, but I also hate Winters where there's a blizzard right after another.

I hate the heat. I get really sick when it's too hot/humid, so I'm not a fan of Summer. I also have a fear of bees, and they stick around in Spring/Summer.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
