TV Tuners: Need Advice

So I went ahead and purchased the following LCD to replace my faulty CRT.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-HOlS8yg...e&i=647LVM37W3

One of the many features I'm interested in is the ability to hook my PC to it via VGA adaptor. As I mentioned in the previous thread, my TV signal has been crappy ever since I hooked up my DSL to my room (a splitter splits the TV cable and DSL cable). I looked over my options, and it seems a TV Tuner is my best bet; it supposedly delivers a crisp picture to my PC, even with the splitter. And it just so happens this new LCD lets me hook up my PC to it via VGA cable. Since the LCD lacks a coaxial input (which I would use for my TV), this seems to be my best option. Basically, I'd be getting all my basic cable from my PC hooked to my LCD instead of my coaxial VCR.

So I could use some advice on what kind of TV Tuner I should be going for; I'm told the internal Tuners are not only cheaper, but they allow you to record the shows of your choice into your HD. But right now I'm curious how they even work (the coaxial cable goes into the tuner?) and which brand I should invest in.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I was just about to post a similar thread.

One thing you could consider is the ATI All-in-Wonder line which I have now. Good TV tuner with the features you said you wanted.

The problem with that line however is if you also plan on gaming the power of the graphics card seems to be over a year behind the current technology. Which is where I'm at now. I'd like to know if I can buy a more up to date graphics card, use a PCI TV tuner, and have no video conflict issues.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The only graphics card I have is the basic non-gaming one provided in my Dell. I mostly just want to watch TV and my saved videos. I may upgrade to a bigger card later on, but that isn't too likely (any PC games I was interested in is getting ported to PS3). Well actually there's the ROMs I have (PS1, SNES, Mugen), but I figure anything my PC can do can be easily transfered to my LCD. At least I'm pretty sure, anyway.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
