Gilmore Girls discussion thread
whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ;_____________;
Let's angst together! Ok those of you who watch this probably know what I'm referring to. This thread is about this show, past and present... and if you feel like posting spoilers then mark them or I'll find a way to punch you through the internet. p.s. I know I'm a giant girl, shutup. Jam it back in, in the dark. I <3 Cheryl.

I've only seen random episodes from throughout all the seasons, though I've mostly been avoiding season six in preparation for watching the DVDs (so far I have seasons 1 and 2). I'm hoping that maybe I can watch all of the show before the next season airs, but that probably won't happen.
Anyway, I heard the news about the Palladinos leaving the show, and unfortunately I think that's gonna hurt the show. I mean, it sounds like they were the life of this show, as they wrote, produced, and directed the majority of the episodes, so I don't see how it can be as good as it is now (though I heard that this season hasn't been that good) without them. Not only that, but it's gonna start on a new channel as well? Even if most people weren't saying that the next season is gonna be the last, it probably would have been anyway. But overall, I think a lot of people don't give this show enough credit. I mean, it has too many factors going against it (being on the WB, people stereotyping it as a "girly" show), so most people never get to see how good this show is. It has some of the best writing on television (especially the dialogue), great actors (especially Kelly Bishop as Emily, who you just love to hate sometimes), and is just a great show overall, but sadly a lot of people don't realize this. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
The dialogue may be good but could they slow it down a little? I mean, would it hurt to have some pauses?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I love the Gilmore Girls. They remind me so much of me and my daughter, except my daughter and I BOTH have the personality of the mom. I watched the show yesterday, as a matter of fact.
The dialogue is a little hard to keep up with sometimes, but that just makes the show more entertaining, I think. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I was speaking idiomatically.

I used to love this show with a firey passion as me and my girly friends would snuggle up to a firelit eight-o-clock viewing of this show. But lately, it's too corny and just straight-up boring to watch. The last episode I watched was when Rory said she's not going to Yale next year. I said *gasp* and turned off the TV in disgust.
The first, I dunno, 4 seasons, were amazing. It was all downhill since there. While it was good, it was good, though. That's for sure. The writing was always spot-on and I think Lauren Graham certainly deserved some kind of award recognition for her absolutely spectacular performances. Her rants were always memorable and well-delivered. I do have to wonder how a show like this with superb writing and acting slipped by the female community's radar (relatively speaking) while a show like Desperate Housewives literally drowns in awards and recognition. Comparing the two is like comparing a high-school performance to one of Shakespeare's epics. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I can't believe my eyes that this thread exists. And yeah last season sucked a big one. The husband and wife team are leaving so next season is going to the final knife in the gut for the dying show.
Maybe it's because Alexis Biedel is such a bad actress or that Logan is just a huge tool but I am really not enjoying their relationship. Lorelai and Luke are adorable but the whole April issue was thrown into everything just for the sake of drama. Sookie and Jackson are the best. The pot episode made me laugh harder than anything else in this season. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |

...anyway who is going to watch the new series? It starts Tuesday on The CW. I don't live in America but I've been trolling the tv show websites trying to figure out whether to watch this show or not (who am I kidding of course I will, but I'll just do it with a big glare on my face). Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Well, I've been hearing that it's still good, even without the Palladinos working on it. I'd watch it, except that I'm not really too caught up on the show. I have seasons 1-5 on DVD, but I haven't watched them yet, and I've only seen assorted episodes from seasons 1-6 on TV, but not enough to know what's been going on recently.
