Removable media not remembering its view settings. BLOW ME, FLASHDRIVE.
This one's stumping me. I'd like my newly acquired flash drive to learn its place and understand that the root folder should view items as a list. So I specify this, then navigate away, then right back, and it's arrayed by tile again.
I already tried the obvious, which is make sure the Remember each folder's view settings box is checked in the Folder Options window, but that seems to be getting ignored. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? Thank you. Edit: I should mention that the flashdrive folders are the only ones doing this. All folders on my local drive behave as they should. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Are you switching which USB port it's plugged into? I know Windows tends to save that information separately for each port.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Nope. I make sure to put my removable media in their same ports all the time.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Bumpin.'
Still not sure how to fix this. I notice that when I uncheck Remember each folder's view settings, the flash drive remembers to keep it at List, but when I specify it to remember, it GOES BACK TO TILE. Where else is there in Windows a place to specify a default view setting? Edit: Holy fuckin' shit I figured it out. Closed. ![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
