Red Garden

Red Garden is a new anime series produced by GONZO (producers of Solty Rei, GANTZ, and Pumpkin Scissors, which is also out this season). Taking equal parts mystery, horror and drama, the setting is in modern-day New York. However, what appears to be normal is quite the opposite.

The first episode begins with five young women being carried out of a building, unconcious. As the cars they are placed into are driven off, one is attacked and the girl inside is whisked away. After the first girl, Kate, is introduced, the screen cuts to two policemen who discover where another girl is found dead in Central Park.




Next we're introduced to Rose, Rachel, and Claire; each of them appearing to have no memory of what took place the following night. Once at school in and class, teachers announce that a student named Liz had been missing and was located - deceased. Breaking down after hearing the news of a close friend, Kate leaves school for the day, and begins to have flashbacks of her time with Liz.




Suddenly, Kate looks up to see a gathering of butterflies. Rachel too sees them, and follows until she comes upon Kate. Rose and Claire are there, too. The four converse and realise that none of them remember last night, just as two people from the beginning of the episode appear from around the corner. Then they are hit with the most troubling news of their day - the reason why they cannot recall the previous night is because they all died. As if that wasn't enough, the man and woman lead the four down a street where another man begins to approach them. Just before the episode ends, the woman tells them that they must kill the man with their own hands.




Having just started this season, there have been three episodes released by [gg] and one by #KazeNoKoe, as a joint project with Shinsen-subs. I personally have only seen the episodes released by gg, but the translation and content is clean (no over-the-top self-inserts), so it is them I recommend.

The opening theme is "Jolly Jolly" by JiLL-Decoy association.
The closing theme is "☆Rock the LM.C☆" by LM.C.

how did this thread get over looked ~shakes head~
this show has my full attention cause i was not expecting another good mystery/suspense/Drama since Monster
i just manage to pick it up cause i had nothing to watch awhile back

im following (and up to date) the Shinsen-subs as the gg subs act slow on my xbox.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
