Staying up to late w/ no reason

EDIT: *too late
EDIT: *with

Do you ever find yourself staying up too late, when you really, REALLY, REALLY should be in bed? (like when you work in less then 5 hours?) I often find myself just wasting time on the internet here, or just browsing elsewhere for little reason, killing time when the crunch time is coming quickly.

Like for instance, right now, I just can't make myself stop and go to sleep. It's like there is a itch to just communicate or something. Heck if I know. It might be a syndrome for all I know.

Anyone else?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I haven't slept earlier than midnight since 8th grade.

I've done that many times. Sometimes I'm in an interesting conversation with someone. Sometimes I feel as though something is nagging me to do something but I have no idea what it is. Sometimes I just feel restless. It especially happens when I'm under some major stress such as a huge decision or an important test.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Lol. I'm doing it right now. Could it just be an overwhelming characteristic of procrastination???

I'll think about that later .

Yeah, I haven't slept before midnight since some point in high school. And then in college, I never slept before 2am. The only exception so far is recently when I was in Australia and heavily jetlagged. It's not really that I'm staying up "for no reason." There's always something for me to do... I could be productive 24/7 if I could stay up forever.

I just started a new job though, and it's been getting harder to continue staying up as late as 2. My sleep time has been approaching midnight for the last few weeknights as I start earlier and earlier. :/

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yeah I have serious work tomorrow starting in about four-ish hours. What can you do? Well, going to bed now sounds like a good idea, eh?

I don't usually stay up later than 2:00 or so. I tend to have something important to do or somewhere to be the following day, and I don't function well with little sleep. If I know that I don't have anything planned, I can easily stay up later by watching a movie or having a conversation with someone.

I'm doing it right now too. I dunno what it is. Usually it's because I'm distracted by something on the internet like this, which seems common among you guys as well, but mostly it's just because I can't shut my mind off. Thoughts constantly pass through my mind, sometimes about meaningless stuff that I really don't even care about, and other times it's the kind of thoughts that tear you apart from the inside out. Either way, it's like trying to sleep at a heavy metal concert or something. Simply not gonna happen.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Last night I was up until 5AM because I was freaking out about not being able to find an apartment. I just paced around while periodically checking craigslist, as if someone will be doing a posting when most sane people are sleeping.

Maybe I'm going crazy.

I used to have some heavy insomnia where it was impossible for me to get any sleep and I remember just tossing and turning in sleep until the sun ripped through my blinds and I just couldn't get myself to not repeatedly check the time, and I'd just clench my eyes shut hoping that the alarm wouldn't ring yet.

Very traumatic times.

But then somehow around 2 years ago, I got all healthier and became able to sleep. Probably because I'm a lot more active now, and various other mental and emotional reasons but now I can sleep pretty easily. I just go to bed with my mp3 player and like a minute into the song I'm asleep. I can also sleep at essentially any point of the day, which rocks.

I hate going to bed though. It's just a nagging feeling I have that I don't want the day to end, so I just do meaningless shit hours and hours into the night until I tell myself "fuck I have to really go to bed" and it sucks because I also hate getting up in the morning. I try my best to get up as early as possible because I know if I get up too late I'll hate myself for it and waste the rest of the day because of a phlegmatic metabolism and mindframe.

Keeping my biological clock in check is harder than it is for most people... which is what I believe atleast. It's good because I CAN sleep when I need to, rather than "want" to... but I still very rarely get those nights where I have like a job interview the next day and I'm too nervous to fall asleep.

Sleep... man... fuck you, sleep. I hate such inferior needs we need like sleep.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

No way, Jose. Since I got into college, I got into the bad habit of staying up playing 'till past midnight very frequently. I never really cared enough to study or whatever, so I didn't really mind.

Lately, though, I've come to REALLY hate the feeling of waking up at noon and realizing that half of my day is gone. I'm almost always in bed before 11, though I try to get to bed about an hour earlier than that. I realize this isn't the best time to be saying so, since it's almost midnight now, but tonight is fairly atypical.

How ya doing, buddy?

Often, I stay up on an average from 11:00 to 2:00 at night. For some reason, I just can't put the book down. Schoolnight? Doesn't matter. I'll still probably stay up and just crash on Saturday.

Oof. I'm normally out around midnight. I've got waaaaaaaaaaay too much coniditioned sleeping under my belt. Every day, BAM I'm up at 7am without an alarm. Across this ladder half of summer I conditioned it to 6am but now it's going back to 7am. Anyhow, I sleep around 12-1am then wake up 6-7am. 5-7hrs is all I need. Have a cup of coffee then go off to handle my morning errands. Whether it be tend to the yard, look at the garden and weed, go to various stores, or drive to Hearne and inspect the cornfields at the farm for hogs.

Easily. I've stayed up late many times for the following reason
1) anime
2) GFF
3) videogames
4) talking on AIM
5) sex

Its the summer right now so its not much of a big deal. But even during the school year I would stay up pretty late like 3 or 3:30 each night even if I had class at 8:30 the next day. In addition, my roomate was a gamer and otaku so we kinda fueled each others bad habits. Oh well...^_^

I can picture myself staying up late on the internet just seemingly searching for something.

I know I've had problems sleeping in the past before, but recently I have been playing Pokemon Red for some reason when I should be sleeping.

I stayed up last night until 7 AM for some reason, and a couple days before that I pulled an all-nighter. There really was no reason for either of them. I just get distracted and forget about having to sleep. No big deal, though, considering it's summer. Hell, I just woke up.

I find I stay up mostly when I have people to chat to, or I'm really involved in a game. I don't stay up late for anime as much, but I still have my evenings where I do that. When I'm working regular hours I try to get to bed by about midnight, or earlier if I can help it, because for some reason mornings have been a bitch to me lately.

Back in college I'd be up till 2 or 3 am, and then up to leave for classes at about 6am. And on top of that I'd work all weekend. I was insane back in those days, and some of the edge has worn off. But I still have my times when I can put in an all nighter, it's simply not as often.

There's also times when I'll stay up just puttering at whatever, mostly because I'm not tired at all, and really can't see wasting time tossing and turning because I can't fall asleep. I hate wasting time. If there is ever a way to be able to operate 24/7, I will discover it.

That sums up my feelings pretty much. My two brothers stay up maybe an hour or two later than I do but they get up, christ, around noon or so I believe. I can't see how they can stand wasting that much daylight. Sleep is lovely but I'd be happy if we found a way to circumvent it (impossible~). Wasting 1/4-1/3 of the day on sleep is no beuno D=

I do that all the time. The thing I've noticed though, from when I have a week or so without school/work/whatever, is that given no time constraints where I have to be up or asleep, I actually live on days that are about 28 hours long.

YES. That is it for certain. That unfortunately driving, restless feeling, like you want to find something or connect to something to cap the day or get a pinch of feeling but you don't know what.

Hate that.
