Audio recording
My sister is having a wedding in a month. I'm gonna try to record some sounds from the band playing at the reception. Is there a way I can just tap in to their switch?
So, I need to know a program that I can use to record and edit these sound files (preferably in flac format (or another lossless format)). What kind of app would you recommend> Joseph Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Are you wanting to multi-track (aka, seperate control of instruments AFTER the performance), or are you thinking a stereo recording (aka, control of instruments ONLY at performance)? I assume stereo recording, and what equipment are you planning on recording them with (PC, CDRecorder, MiniDisc, other)?
If only PC, then just send a line-in signal and you can use windows sound recorder. If you want to edit, you'll have to probably buy a program (or Torrent one). I've got a free simple program called YAMP that can record but not edit. I have a old program called Cool Edit 2000, that has been hacked and cracked to pieces. I'm sure you could find one of those somewhere... There's nowhere I can't reach. ~ Ready To Strike ~ :Currently Playing: League Of Legends(PC), Skyrim(PC), Golden Sun: Lost Age(GBA), Twilight Princess(Wii), Portal2(PC), Dragon Warrior II(NES), Metroid Prime 2: Echoes(GC)

I will be using a laptop (yes, sterio). I can't figure out windows recorder, you can only record 60 seconds easily. I'm thinking about using audacity. Free, bottom line...
Joseph This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Like I said, if you want something that edits wave files, I don't know of any free program that does so in a non-linear way (i.e. you look at the wav file and edit it). If you do find one, let me know what it is. But spending $20-40 for a program is probably a good idea. So find one that you like, link it here, and I'll check it to see that it has all you need.

To get your work done, why not try with FlexiMusic Wave editor, an audio editing and recoring software. This can be obtained a shareware basis (it is free to use for seven used days)
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Yeah, Audacity is pretty good for recording and editing audio. That's my recommendation.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
