DualShock 2 question

Does the Dpad on the controller break easily? My friend went through 3 controllers: the one in the box, one used and a brand new one. It seems one of the directional buttons on the pad ends up being less responsive than the others and he ends up pressing harder . . . It seems nitpicky but it gets quite noticeable.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I never had this happen to me before on a PS2 controller, though it has happened before on both my NES and SNES controllers. My only problem with the DualShock 2 is that the analog stick will get off balanced sometimes, therefore causing me to move when I don't want/need to.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The only problem I've had with my Dual Shock was the rubber on the analogues, it eventually fell off with the usage.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I've never had any issues with the D-pad. I've had four controllers for a few years now, and they've gone through some abuse. As mentioned already though, I have experienced some problems with the analog sticks.

I've only had problems with the shoulder buttons, personally, but I can usually fix them by just taking the controller apart and putting it back together. Sometimes the pads that detect a button press slide around a little bit and you need to reposition everything on the inside to be sure they're sitting right.

You might want to tell your friend to try doing that, horseman.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I've had my d-pad snap in two places (up and left were effectively buttons) on my Dual Shock 1 and shoulder button problems with Dual Shock 2. I don't feel I would buy another Sony pad and will be forced to look into 3rd party. Anyone got any real good suggestions?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

my family has gone through countless controllers. We make sure to keep them all so we can use the spare parts if we ever need to fix one. they seem to be low quality or crappily built or SOMETHING, because i know we didn't go through this many super nes/n64 controllers.

My daulshock2s are release controllers.. I have no idea why they have not broke, I just keep using them til they die I guess. One of the sholder buttons have become 'sticky' but that's it.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
