New Sega game teaser page unveiled
A new Sega game has been unveiled here. It's being produced by Takao Miyoshi, who is a Sonic Team senior member and Phantasy Star Universe producer. It wasn't what I expected it to be. It's like a combination of the original Super Mario Bros, with a old western style. I don't know what the title is. I can't read japanese. The music sounds pretty nice, though.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It's called 'Pole's Big Adventure', it'll parody other games from the 8-bit era. From what I've seen, there's one bit where you can go down a Mario-ish pipe, only to pop back out of it covered in shit. Collecting a power-up mushroom also makes the main character grow so tall he eventually dies.
Opening level thingy. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I already love it.
Reminds me of this game, what with the parodies and all. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I don't think this game will hit the states.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Doesn't this seem like too much of a direct rip-off? I mean, there's parody and then there's blatant theft of basic ingredients.
I was speaking idiomatically. |

Yeah, I agree. My question is how Sega got Nintendo to green light this. It is going to be on Wiiware, so Nintendo is benefiting from it, and The Great Giana Sisters is now okay with Nintendo, since it's for the DS. Oh well. Still looks cool.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
