System Shock 2 Mod 2: Sea of Dreams

YouTube Video

A video that supposedly comes with the PS3 version of Bioshock has found it's way to the internet via shakycam, and it looks like a teaser for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams.

It looks pretty legit to me, though for the life of me I still can't figure out how they could possibly do a sequel to Bioshock. What do you guys think?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

There are loads of ways to make a sequel. It could be a completely unrelated game with the same name and with common themes or set in the same universe, it could be a different story running parallel to the first, the first could all have been some form of mass-psychosis halucination, maybe all the main characters from the first were cloned, could be the main character's twin brother this time around, might be a retelling of the first from the bad guy's perspective, the possibilities are endless. I would have thought you of all people would have seen enough films to appreciate how easy it is to make up some nonsense plot device to justify a sequel.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Looks real. As Shin said, I too doubt they'll be going for a direct sequel.

Don't like the logo. Awkwardly cramming a numeral into the Bioshock logo doesn't scan well.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

There is a Bioshock sequel (or perhaps prequel) in the works. That is reasonably well know I thought. And in case you're still skeptical, check out the 2K Marin job listing page.

So I'm guessing the video is legit, but who knows.

If memory serves, didn't Take 2 just announce that so their share price would increase when EA were trying to buy them? Not to say that it's not underway already but I certainly don't remember hearing anything else about this since about March. Also, I think they said at the time that a different dev team were working on the sequel although in this day and age with everyone buying engines in that doesn't mean much except for the scripting.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Shin: No, they announced it because they're working on a sequel. I'm surprised with how many copies the original sold it's that much of leap to think that they wouldn't do a sequel (it's the rule of thumb for popular games, no?). And yes, it is a slightly different dev team, but within the same company: it's 2K Marin (the guys who did the PS3 port), as opposed to 2K Boston. If you look at their job listing (the site I linked to) it clearly states they want people to work on BioShock 2.

Anyways, looks like it is legit: Very first BioShock 2 trailer shown News // PS3 /// Eurogamer - Games Reviews, News and More

Haven't Bioshock2 been confirmed for quite some time though?

Indeed, but that's about it. It's the precise nature of the thing that's still shrouded in rumour and dodgy information.

Believe me, it takes an indefinable amount of skill and an equally immeasurable lack of integrity to be able to ruin franchises with unjustified sequels, and that's something I simply don't have in me yet.

Be Prepared for the Big Sister!

BioShock 2 Video Game, Exclusive Debut Gameplay HD | Game Trailers & Videos | GameTrailers.com

it's seem you take the role of a Big Daddy this time and the drill seem awesome! The first Part of the video was really great with the window breaking and all the water rushing in. I guess we'll see some underwater exploration and maybe fight in this sequel I like that the Big sister seem really agile and fast, a little change in a pacing of the gameplay.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Looks like a sweet film, can't wait to see it

I don't get what's up with the first person perspective though, seems it could be a little jarring for moviegoers
