Dual Monitors and gaming

Ok, I have a dual monitor setup right now with two Samsung 19" LCDs.

It's currenty on the setting "Horizontal stretch" when in the ATI Catalyst Control Center software for my Radeon 9700 Pro. It works great for PSing, and the everyday stuff, but there's a problem.

The problem is whenever I play a game, the game aways clones itself on both monitors. Of course, this requires double the power from the graphics card and puts my frame rates to hell.

The only way I can play a game on one screen (assuming it doesn't have a play in window function) is to disable one monitor. It works, but it's annoying to do all the time.

I was wondering what solutions GFFs had to play games on two monitors. I heard of some programs that allow you to play any game in a window. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Any game in a window is a substantial FPS drop too. Just disable the monitor. It's what the rest of the world does.

Isn't there any option like nVidia's DualView for ATI cards? I get double the desktop space, but my games will only run on my primary monitor.
