Best card for GeForce?

I need to know best videocard for NVIDIA:

-GeForce 7800 GTX
-GeForce 7850 Ultra GTX
-GeForce 7900 GTX
-GeForce 7950 GX2

tell me which one is best and why?

GeForce 7950 GX2. It's basically two 7900 cards in one. Buy two of them and you'd be running Quad SLI.

Technically true now that nVidia released a Beta driver for Quad-SLI; BUT two 7900GTXs in SLI will get better performance (as opposed to one 7950GX2). A 7950GX2 is like two 7900GTs in SLI (based on clock rate).

buy 7900GTXs or 7950 GX2?

RushJet1 Jul 26, 2006 08:46 AM

best performance possible is buying two 7950 GX2s, but it's a rediculous price. two 7900GTXs are also really expensive - it depends on what you want.

For the price of getting one 7950GX2, you can just about get 2x 7800GXTs.

The main difference here would be the space you would essentially save if you bought a 7950 GX2 and if you've got the money and fancy trying out the beta drivers for getting a Quad-SLI setup going, then try it for yourself.

My choice would be the GeForce 7950 GX2 since I own one and find it brings out the best graphics in games.

gx2 = $550
7800GTX = $369
2x7800gtx = $738
7900GT = $259
2x7900GT = $518

might as well get 2 7900GTs if you have an SLI-capable setup. they're faster than 7800GTXs anyway and it would save you a little money (not a lot)

I say go with the 7950 GX2. Will save ou any of the hassle of SLI (not that there is much) and will save you space/heat in the case. All the benefits of dualGPU without all the baggage.

And BTW 7900GT's in SLI would not be better than the 7950GX2, but 7900GTX's would. Though this doesn't take into account overclocking if you do that because you can OC the 7950GX2 to 7900GTX speeds.

I'd go with the 7950GX2. Less of a hassle than an SLI setup (assuming you're even capable of an SLI setup) and more than likely, less power consumption for about the same speed as an SLI 7900GT.
