Bowling
 

I'm sure most of us consider this more of recreational than a sport, but how many of you bowl, competitively or not?

I really only went bowling a few times a year, but I've gone the past two weeks with my friends. I consider myself barely mediocre. In five total games bowled, my high score was a 120, with the low being an 85. I guess it's pretty consistant, but I'd rather have some higher scores. What are some of your high scores?

I bowl with friends and family when there isn't much else to do. Good times. My highest score was like 144. I dont know how some people bowl like 200+ games.

I recently started bowling with my friends every other week or so this semester, all just for fun. I hadn't bowled since my senior year of high school, and now it's my last semester of college. My first game I was awful, getting a score in the mid-70s. Next game though, I got a groove, and since then I've been averaging about 150 per game. My low since was a 135, and my high was 186. Fun stuff.

Yeah, it's all about the spares. You know you're not going to roll strikes all 10 frames, so sparing is really important. Of course, that's my problem. I could roll it straight down the middle and knock over 8 pins on my first roll everytime, but I just can't get those other two pins which is crucial. My friend bowled a 187 last time we went. He got 5 strikes and like 3 spares, so you could imagine how good he did.

Bowling is the new 'thing' to do at school. A group of my friends and I went recently and spent about 50 bucks for two games, five people. My highest score I believe was 108 or around there. Normally on the second game we put on bumpers just to mess around.

I've gone bowling like 5 times in my life, and the last time I went, my fingers got stuck in the bowl. It was pretty embarrasing because when I tried to throw the ball, I fell over and went flying like 5 feet. I felt pretty stupid because I chose a ball too small and everyone got a good kick out of it. Even I did for a little bit, but good thing I didn't hurt myself!

I've done a few leagues with my buddies on the weekends before. It was something we did for a few years during summer vacation because everyone was back in town. I wasn't ever really great, my high game was a 210 but I bowl around the 150 range pretty consistently.

I actually had something interesting happen from the league I played in a few weeks back. You had to join a bowling association in Ohio when you joined the league. A few weeks ago I got a letter in the mail from that association and was awarded a 60 dollar scholarship. Not that sixty dollars goes very far toward paying the bills but I guess it's one less text book that I have to buy.

I went bowling again today. I had to bring it up. My scores were savage.. 142, 106 and a 162. Soon enough I'll be hitting the big 200.

Heh. Since there was nothing much to do where I used to live, we'd bowl all the time. Once I bowled so well (over 200) that I got a little pin. It was pretty funny. :biggrin:

Every so often we'll go bowling, but it's by no means something that happens often. Maybe like 5 or so times a year.

I think the best that I've ever done was like 170. Quite happy with myself for that, won us the little two lane competition we were having (take THAT team of girlfriends!)

My scores are not the big thing, ranging from 110 to 150

You know Kairyu and I go bowling every week or every other. We both play iwth music through our MP3 players. I don't see it as a competion, and I really rather not play competatively.

We both have our own styles, his consists more of power and experimenting shots, while mine is more consistancy and finesse.

We both had highs of around 180-200, and lows can go down into the 80's if we really suck that day.

Cobra nailed it on the head. Though I think my average is more around 125. My high being 218 and my low was somewhere in the 70's *ouch.*
